A Nice Hotel-You Will be Missed I stayed at The Court four times in 2017 and six-seven times overall. I always got a suite on the upper floors and have nothing but positive things to say. The rooms are spacious, the view from the terrace is amazing, and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I have a series of photos from the terrace of the Chrysler Building! The location is excellent. Murray Hill is a great part of town. Close to everything, and a nice place to hang out. I was sad to hear that The Court is closing. Sure, the hotel was a little dated, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Sometimes you need to look past the little things and take in the big picture. I hope to find another "gem" in NYC and will see what the future holds for this property. Thank you for a wonderful experience! You will be missed.

Mixed Emotions I would think the hotel is a bit under the four mark but why not be a touch generous. Best of all is the location. Near a number of good restaurants and within a brief walk from public transportation since it is only a short walk to Grand Central Station. (In other words if you take any of the airport buses to Grand Central you are almost there. Service is pleasant and helpful. When my toilet overflowed (not a highlight) they quickly fixed it. Free copies of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times are on offer in the lobby as well as coffee in the morning. The rooms are of reasonable size but somewhat glum. You would want to spend too much time there. The rooms lack coffee making facilities but wifi is complementary. To exercise you have to traipse next door. The price was very reasonable so added to the location and pleasant service I had an enjoyable stay. Yet it is not somewhere to which I would eagerly return.

Magnificent Management My understanding is that this hotel is closing next month so in a sense this review is moot but I had a great experience here. The hotel is definitely “dated” but the rooms are huge by Manhattan standards & had a tub so I was able to overlook almost everything else that was “wrong” with it. Also, I must commend management, especially Rob, for working with me on extending my stay without having to pay for an extra night because my arrival was delayed by the Nor’easter. Per their policy, they did not have to accommodate the lost night at all despite the extraordinary circumstances but they did. I truly, truly appreciated it and had a wonderful stay. About a 10-minute walk from the Theater District & surrounded by great restaurants. If it wasn’t closing, I’d surely stay there again.

Great location, spacious rooms; avoid the bar A really decent value 4 star hotel in Midtown. Rooms are some of the most spacious in Manhattan and good views from the higher floors. Nice and quiet too and they were happy to accommodate our room request. The guys on the front desk are dolls, as are the cleaners. Free coffee every morning from the lobby and there is an awesome bagel shop a block from the door which I would recommend for breakfast. It’s on the way to Grand Central Station. The hotel bar is run seperate to the hotel so I won’t hold it against them but I can’t complain about the bar enough. I’ve warned all my friends to avoid it. They were constantly closed for parties which would have been fine if properly communicated except the staff were happily serving us drinks and then less than 5 mins later saying we had to leave and take the drinks with us. $20 for 2 bottles of beer in our room. We coulda just gone to the drugstore. Yea avoid that place like the plague.

Beware - Management Doesn't Care About You My husband booked the Court on Hotel Tonight when the hotel we were supposed to stay in lost it's water because of a water main break. The room we were given didn't come close to fitting how it was described. The upholstered furniture was stained, the wood furniture was scratched, the carpet was stained and had buckled in places, and the sheets and window shades were frayed and torn. When he called and asked for a room change the hotel operator told him there were no other rooms available (which turned out not to be true). We then decided to make a reservation at another hotel. As we were checking out the front desk staff apologized and said the hotel would be closing in April so it could be renovated. I told them I would have never stayed in the hotel if I had known the room condition and requested a refund as I didn't use it at all. They said I would have to go through Hotel Tonight. I contacted Hotel Tonight and told them what happened, and after investigating the situation they told me the Court's management would not agree to a refund. I then called Robert Falco, the Court's room's manager, and left a voice mail which he didn't even have the courtesy to return. The way the management of the Court handled this situation shows they really don't care about their guests, but just the hotel's revenue. There are many hotels in New York City, I would recommend that Trip Advisor readers stay away from the Court and the other St. Giles hotels and take their business elsewhere.
