Loved Our High Line Stay We got a great deal on our stay here. We got upgraded to a King deluxe, and my dog stayed for free! The staff was extremely helpful. I was concerned about noise (as per other reviews), but we had no problems with the street noise at all (expected City Life). The room was spacious and has old charm. The location was perfect for me- to have the garden and quiet, be near the river, and still walkable to lower Manhattan sites. I cannot wait to go back!

Had high hopes, but disappointing My family and I had two rooms at the High Line hotel. I was hopeful and excited given all the great reviews, but we had a list of things we weren't pleased with. The staff were nice and friendly, but the amenities at the hotel were lacking. In both rooms the bathtub drains backed up so we showered in a pool of water. In one of our rooms the hair dryer did not work, whereas the 2nd room it was fine. In one of the rooms the iron leaked water and was not efficient in ironing. It took so much longer to iron than it should have. The A/C in both rooms weren't the best. And to add to all this we had bug bites from the bed. We travel a lot and this did not meet our expectations. The rooms look better on line than in person.

Worst hotel experience, ever! Toilet was broken on check in… reported to front desk when we went out to dinner. Upon our return, we were told maintenance had fixed. Nope… Ditto for the room safe that did not work… The room was filthy… toilet must not have been cleaned because there was a poop streak in it when we checked in… Our room, #7, was off the lobby. We were awakened at 6:45a by barking dogs…inside the hotel. On check out, we were told they couldn’t give us a bill, but later when it was emailed to us there were charges we had not agreed to. One was a “donation” to the Friends of the High Line… you’d think a “donation” would have to be agreed to. The second is a “facility fee”… i saw nothing about such a fee when I booked our when the hotel sent us confirmation info… it just shows up on the bill. Total BS To make matter worse, I called the hotel the next day to discuss and was connected to the general manager’s voicemail. I left a brief message with request to be called. I have heard nothing… Bottom line: never, ever stay at this hotel…

Beautiful Hotel The High Line Hotel is a lovely historic hotel in Chelsea. The location was great for exploring NYC from the High Line. It was convenient to world class shopping, to the Chelsea Market and many fun restaurants in the Meat Packing District of NY. The outdoor cafe space is unique for NYC. I would love to stay there again.

Caveat Emptor A Hilton this is NOT. Actually, in so many ways, a good thing. If you like a touch of history and a yesteryear aesthetic, quaint and quirky, chill and friendly, and aren’t turned off by old and creaky, AND you can handle the pricing of right location… this hotel is conveniently located in Chelsea, features a nice little coffee shop, and has vintage character and feel. My accommodation was a smaller room with a comfy bed, antique cabinet, desk, and lamps, and nice little bath-shower, all clean and functional. The window unit A/C was very adequate, thankfully, as outside was sunny and hot for mid-June. I enjoyed a spritzer outdoors in their enclosed outdoor garden space on late afternoon arrival, and a perfect cappuccino my next morning… lovely and relaxed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as I needed some assistance puzzling out the operation of the old lift (elevator)… no worries, a quick “tutorial” got me situated in my room on the 4th floor… quaint, and quiet, easily adjusted for light/dark (curtains and drapes)… one can imagine a day when guests penned letters or postcards on the writing desk… today, a flat screen smart TV and cable (though in the heart of Manhattan, who really needs it?). Admittedly, it’s a pricey indulgence for less than state-of-the-art digs, yet comfortable, sufficient for a relaxed two night stay. Loved it.
