DON’T GO THERE!!!! Terrible place. I strongly advise against this hotel especially on weekends. I have Booked this hotel via the Hotwire site, so I didn’t choose myself that hotel. When I arrived everything was fine, the building was well maintained. But when I got to my room there was no fridge and no window in the room, so it was pretty dark. It wasn’t that many a 4 stars hotel. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated us by delivering a small fridge to our room. Most of the problem started in the evenings when a huge group arrived at the hotel around 9 p.m. First of all, you have to know that they have rooms adjacent to the pool, which is what we used to have, so it’s very noisy when there are people in the pool, which is why they have a policy of closing earlier than in other hotels so that they don’t upset people who have this kind of room. Normally the pool closes at 8 pm. However, when the group arrived at the hotel, hundreds of people rushed to the pool. At about 9:30 pm, unable to sleep with my children, I went to the reception to ask why the pool was still open, and the staff told me that for the groups it had an exeption policy to close the pool at 10 pm. I asked for a change of room and I was told that the hotel was complete with what was wrong because when I looked on the web many types of rooms were still available for the two nights I was there. I applied for a credit that was turned down as much as I had booked on a platform other than the hotel. I was offered a dejeuner. At 22:15 the pool was still not closed I was to make a complaint again but they extended the policy for the group at 11:00 pm. The next day the same thing happened and the pool was still open at 23:20. Teenagers broke bottles of glasses on the ground outside and shouted in the hotel gym at that time. The staff has been silly throughout my conversations with them and the person working at the cafe restaurant will not give you back if you don’t ask. I strongly advise you to avoid this hotel especially on weekends. These groups have an annual contract, which means that they will always disrupt the hotel no matter what weekend you decide to stay there.

Avoid Booked a last minute points room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport. By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, both in terms of quality of room and staff support/service. The poor stay started at the airport where we had to wait 30+ minutes for the shuttle (there are two Doubletrees in the area, the other had plenty of shuttles). The van that eventually arrived could not even fit those waiting, was in awful condition, and the driver actually hit another hotel shuttle right in front of the group (no damage I assume). Check in was the worst I have had at any hotel (~1015 PM). 45+ minutes to check in with only ~6 different people in front of me. I would say they were short-staffed but eventually multiple additional agents came out of the back after it had died down. People had trouble finding reservations, there was no recognition of HHonors, people were cutting in line, etc. After finally checking in and getting to our room I was greeted by a room worse than just tired. Yes, the bedding and towels were clean. But everything else had not been touched in 20+ years. Everything is falling apart, everything has stains. I will accept some of this at an airport hotel but this was beyond. For $200+ a night (or equivalent points which is what I used), I would highly suggest avoiding this hotel at all costs.

Ask for Michelle at check in! Michelle at check in was amazing! She made my stay better just by being a wonderful and helpful person. I appreciate all Michelle did to help me enjoy my stay. The room is very nice and Doubletree always seems comfy. I had lunch at the restaurant and it was good (not stunning, but good enough not to leave the hotel to eat.)

Very poor check in experience. The Doubletree was overall excellent. However there was an issue at check in. Apparently a tour bus had arrived just prior to our arrival. Upon entering the lobby we observed approximately 30-40 people in line waiting to be checked in. There were Gold and Diamond members trying to check in. I am a Gold member. We asked and were told we needed to wait in the line that snaked through the lobby. And that line surely did move slowly. I went to the reception desk and asked if guests with Hilton Honors status could be checked in first. She told me that would be unfair to the others in line. I had already checked in on line and was waiting for a text to say my room was ready. She very begrudgingly sent me my text. My recommendation for when this situation should occur again that there be a dedicated check in line for Hilton Honors members. I think this was insulting to members that have proven dedication to the Hilton brand. Other than that incident our stay was great.

Don't stay here if you can help it Don't stay here if you can help it. The wait staff couldn't possibly care less, they take forever to get your order and if you do manage to order it gets to you cold or not at all, breakfast is sub par, it's impossible to get coffee or syrup or any condiments. We are hilton owners and they tried to charge us 9$ for two small bottles of water that are free in literally every other hilton. The wall plugs and usb ports next to the bed didnt work so The only good thing was that they brought us wall plugs for the USB ports. Asking the staff questions is useless, they give short answers without any explanation. Housekeeping was friendly, not one of the better hilton properties. Go to the ones in NY
