Do NOT book here, worst hotel ever! Call this motel 0 This was the worst experience ever! The first night we got there we had to switch rooms because the ac/heater did not work and also the room smelled like cigarettes. The hotel is super runner down and their refrigerators do not cool. The second room that we were switched to locked us out and staff cannot open the room for the whole day.. we had to get ready for a funeral, and we were unable to because they could not get it together and open the room, not even the master keys were working. Then they switched us to their supposedly nicest room they had for the inconvenience . We had to pack up everything and switch rooms for the third time and it’s still smelled, super dirty. My feet got dirty when walking, the AC did not work in this room as well, the bed sheet looks like they were never changed. It was just horrible. Also, the staff are liars! Julian who was in charge, assured me that I would get compensation for my inconvenience and I called my third-party purchaser to which I booked through Agoda , and they called Julian to verify this. Julian said no, he could not do that. that we switched over to the nicer room. He’s a liar because he told me that I would get compensated. then I go and confront him about what he said, and he said the reason why he couldn’t do it was because only manager could refund me. He said the manager would be in the next day. he lied, there were no managers and on Sunday and no one can help me Nor Monday. Pretty much I got the runaround and the whole experience was a mess. For this type of experience, you would feel like you needed a full refund, which the hotel should’ve honored specially for not letting me get into the room and change into something decent for my cousins funeral. WORST EXPERIENCE, do not ever book here!

Disappointments at the Balboa Inn Arrived for check in on 4/20/24. There is no where to park for check in. You have to park on the street, other vehicle have to maneuver around you. We were advised to unload our luggage and person with a luggage cart would get out luggage. At the counter we were told parking would be an additional $60.00. Also a resort fee of $30 was also added. As we walked to our room from the elevator is very apparent that this hotel was in dire need of remodeling. We entered our room and were amazed at the condition of the room. The bed its self was decent The wall were discolored with chips and paint missing in several locations. The headboard was soiled. The bathroom was "recently" remodeled, however the tiles around the shower were moldy. We slept with the windows open because there were no directions how to work the thermostat on the wall. believe me we tried. Due to the window being open, the night crowd was easily heard. I can't believe this place is even in business. Totally a waste of money!!!

You gotta go here Upon check-in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a happy attitude, it was fast check in. When we got to our room, we saw a beautiful view of the ocean and we were so satisfied with the location of our room the staff, the new bar and the restaurant are well worth taking your time going all around a great visit.

Check Your Credit Card After You Stay Very overpriced for what. you get, and to add insult to injury, check your credit card when you leave. At check-in they told me they needed the credit card for a $100 charge I would get back for incidentals (pretty standard). But when I checked my credit card, there was a $33 charge. When I called to inquire, I was told it was a "resort" fee for my, wait for it, "complimentary" breakfast. The "complimentary" breakfast consisted of some instant oatmeal, packaged banana bread, and an orange. I'm not quite sure why they do this without telling the customer ahead of time because it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth for the whole experience. I was willing to overlook the very basic room that wasn't spotless, the super loud environment, and the overcrowded pool for the experience of the location, until they sneakily added on a $33 charge. Poor business model. We will be coming back in April and I will not be staying there.

OVER PRICED DIRTY ROOMS. RIP OFF FOR THE PRICE. Upon checking in, I pre-paid through a travel web-site and was treated as if I was second class. They asked for my credit card for essentials. That is when I found out that they charge $60.00 per night for parking ( On their own property!) The room in the off season was over $250.00 a night and the hotel was 1/2 empty. FREE TIP- CHECK IN IS AT 4:00. PARK BEHIND THE HOTEL, PAY FOR 2 HOURS, $5:00. -FREE FROM 6:00PM-8:00 AM. THE ROOM THEY GAVE ME FACED A STUCCO WALL. I REQUESTED TO BE MOVED. THEY DID MOVE ME TO A SLIGHTLY BETTER ROOM BUT ZERO BEACH VIEW. I HAVE STAYED HERE BEFORE, BUT HONESTLY, YOU CAN TELL THE HOTEL IS RUN DOWN. SMELLED DIRTY, FLOORS DID NOT FEEL CLEAN, AND THE ONE WINDOW I COULD SEE OUT OF, WAS SO DIRTY, I COULD NOT SEE OUT. THE ROOM HAD A FIREPLACE BUT DID NOT WORK!!!! NOT WORK THE MONEY. WHY WILL I NEVER STAY HER AGAIN? UPON CHECKING OUT, I NOTICED A $30.00 (RESORT FEE.) FOR WHAT I ASKED? "FOR WIIFI!" I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THE RESORT FEE WHEN I CHECKED IN. THEN I CHECKED THE WEB SITE AND IT ADVERTISED "FREE WIIF" DO NOW WASTE YOUR MONEY. THE OWNERS ARE ARROGANT, THE PRICE IT TOO HIGH, AND THE ROOMS FEEL VERY DIRTY. IF I HAD PAID THE $60.00 PARKING FEE, AND NOW I WAS CHARGED $30.00 FOR "RESORT FEE, (WHICH THE AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO MY CREDIT CARD.) IT WOULD HAVE BEEN $90.00 EXTRA. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. OWNERS ARE RUDE, ROOMS ARE DIRTY.
