Delightful, Comfortable, Welcoming and Immaculate The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel started to serve hot breakfast in the morning and the Hostess Miss Melvina is the main reason I would return to this hotel in the future. She was friendly, professional, cordial, hospitable and warm. She made my stay feel like Christmas at moms. She was exceptional. The front desk staff was no where near as welcoming, polite or professional. Miss Townes who checked me in was stand offish and rude. Miss Kelly who checked me out did not make eye contact or even thank me for my stay. I felt like I was bothering her when I checked out.

The service and management at this hotel is the worst we have ever experienced! We were really looking forward to our stay with Fairfield Inn by Marriott, as we were meeting family who we have not seen for many years, and some (cousins) we have not met at all. We arrived really late at the hotel, think it was about 10pm. We were really tired as we drove from NC, Raleigh after work on Friday. Tasha checked us in, after only asking for my ID, and gave us a room key. We went to bed shortly after we checked into our room.At 2:22 am the room phone rang, I went to pick it up, reached the phone just too late and it stopped ringing. This happend twice more, after which I unplugged the phone.. (I thought someone is playing with the phones) By this time all 4 of us were awake. We just got back to sleep when at around 2:50am we had a really loud and urgent knock on the room door. I went to open it and it was Stephany from the front desk, telling us that our credit card they have on file did not authorize and if I do not give her another means of payment straight away we need to pack up and leave the hotel straight away- she said her manager, Doughlas Harrison (front Office Manager) said so. I told Stephany that we are Silver Elite Bonvoy members and she can take some points for payment,(as we had over 50 000 Bonvoy points available to use on our account) but she refused. I wanted to speak to Dough, as by this time my whole family was awake once again. Stephany could not reach Dough by phone (ofcourse as it was in the early morning hours when most people-most likely Dough as well- were asleep, especially guests paying to stay in a hotel) I told Stephany we need our sleep as we will drive to Florida the next day and I will come to the desk in the morning to give her another credit card, if she does not want to take some of our Bonvoy points as guarantee for now. She told me that if I do not come to the desk straight away we will need to pack up and go. I gave Stephany our credit card and told her I will wait for her in our room, as I was in my PJ's and will not come like this to the lobby. When she came back my husband went with her to the desk and wanted to speak to the manager, no manager was available (how is there no person with authority available at this hotel??) We barely slept after this as my youngest kept having nightmares about 'police coming to chase us out of the hotel room..' The brochure stated that breakfast on weekends stopped at 10am, but when we phoned the desk they told us breakfast will end at 9am. I reminded them that it was weekend, but the lady insisted the breakfast will end at 9am. The next morning when we went to fetch breakfast we wanted to speak to the manager on duty at 8:30am, still no manager on duty. Your breakfast is really something to be ashamed about. Bagel and coffee and Granola bar? I asked the lady who was busy cleaning the floor if she could please replenish the breakfast buffet.. and was told that it was all that was available. A bagel with coffee. Even with Covid 19 happening, you can surely offer a better 'grab and go breakfast' to your guests. Who are paying for a stay with breakfast. Like 'McMuffin like sandwiches or croissants or hot pockets for guests to prepare in the microwave. At 10m there was a quick knock on the room door and the next thing - while I was making my way to the door- the housekeeping has already opened the door. One knock and bam ! This is just unbelievable!! What if one of us were naked? or busy in the bathroom? At 11am just before we left the room my husband contacted the desk again to ask to speak to a manager, there was only one Reception lady and she told us there was no manager on duty. We would like a full refund for our stay as well as enough Bonvoy points to enjoy a nice stay with another Marriott hotel in the future. I used to be a manager in 4 and 5 star hotels, we travel a lot and stay in hotels around the world, and have never experienced anything like this in my life. When you check a guest in you make sure you get ID, a completed reservation form which is signed by the guest and make sure the credit card you have on file does in fact have enough credit to pay for the full stay. You get all the paperwork done before you hand over the room key. You do not wake a whole family just after 2am in the morning and tell them you are going to through them out if they do not pay straight away. Especially your Elite members who has just completed a 2 week stay in Residence Inn at the beginning of June 2020. Your Night Auditor should have the Authority to also be the Night Manager and take care of the hotel and its guests/ including making important decisions if need to be. Your hotel needs a manager on duty 24/7. Especially on a Sunday morning when any good hotel has many check-outs/ possible complaints or issues. Also non of our requests were adhere to while you prepared for our arrival. No extra towels, no extra pillows, no extra soap.. What is the purpose of being an Silver Elite Bonvoy member then? No prep for your arrival, you get woken several times during the morning hours of your stay, the worst breakfast, housekeeping storms into your room with one knock.. no manager on duty during night or morning hours.. This is past awful. We are really dissappointed with the whole experience in Fairfield by Marriott. We wanted full refund, but the Front Office manager and GM refused and only offered 10 000 Bonvoy points (which is not even enough for another nights stay)

Recruiter for UM Their facility was excellent and comfortable. Their staff goes well beyond expectations. I needed a quiet space to interview applicants to hire. They offered another space to meet my needs. My room was very clean and comfortable. I will stay here again. I look forward it to my next recruiting effort.

Outstanding Service - Front Desk Team and Restaurant & Support Staff! THANK YOU!! Just wanted "KELLY" and "DOUGLAS" (Front Desk) to know that I appreciated them making us feel like special guests. As always, our room was immaculate. Also, thanks so much, "DOUGLAS," for setting up Lift "correctly" on my cell phone, so that I could access Lift services to/from the Carnival cruise ship! MELVINA's bubbly personality and assurance that everything was well-stocked during breakfast was a positive addition to the overall services we received. Lastly, KELLY, DOUGLAS and MELVINA embody the kind of personal and professional qualities (friendly, genuine smiles, attention to details and a caring disposition) that Fairfield Inn & Suite's guests expect and are the reasons why Marriott hotels are a step above the rest! We will be back!

lovely stay I just returned home after a lovely stay at this property. The highlight was Melvina, the wonderful soul who keeps everything smoothly humming in the breakfast dining room. She can also be seen during the hotel's happy hour moments. Her smile is contagious. Thanks to Kelly, the manager, for promptly addressing a transportation snafu. If anyone is waiting at the airport or convention center, know that this hotel will go to great lengths to help you if the hotel shuttle is delayed or no longer running. Save receipts from cab or Lyft. Beyond that, the accommodations were clean and quiet. So quiet, and unlike most hotels, I never even saw the housekeeper. It was like an angel appeared and cleaned my room. Thanks for everything, Everyone! If you're in the area, consider a day trip to St. Helena Island, historic place where you can learn about Gullah culture at Penn Center and Red Piano Too Art Gallery. Rent a car from the airport and drive one hour away. Sit on the sound and enjoy the chili at Foolish Frog restaurant. Ravenel Fresh Seafood is about a 15 minute drive away. Their garlic crabs are ridiculously good!
