Spacious, comfortable, clean We really enjoyed our stay. We were visiting Charleston, and it was an easy drive into town and reasonably priced parking (we ended up parking at the courthouse parking garage for $2 per hour). The room was very spacious, very clean, hand sanitizer stations around the elevator lobbies, and quiet. Staff were friendly. Good breakfast. We will definitely stay there again if in the area.

Very dated-property needs makeover Typically love these properties. Made last minute reservation. Unfortunately this is an extremely dated property. Brown yellow hallway carpet. Old bathroom with brown spec granite. Front desk was pleasant at check in. So many choices in this area. Would never stay here again.

Not helpfulness Asked for late check out , they have plenty of availability and says yes we have rooms we just don't want to offer you late check out. Such a lack of care to accommodate their guests. If a hotel has availability they never mind to make sure guests are taken care of. They do not do turn down service unless you're staying a week, so they can't blame it on housekeeping. They just like to leave their guests stuck sitting in the airport longer, or in a train station. With covid, people want to avoid situations like that.

FOX NEWS COMMANDING LOBBY The staff were to a person nice, professional, courteous. The room was basic, but clean. Not a very swanky area and the price reflects it. The free EV for electric cars turned out to be two very tight spots on the side of the building and the hook ups were exclusively for Tesla not a match for a Prius Prime. All was fine however it is beyond TACKY and PUSHY and OFF-PUTTING to have FAUX NEWS forced in your face. Marriott is not a political soapbox. It is a guest hotel open to all Americans and yes, even foreigners who speak multiple languages and find the endless mendacity and insanity of FOX News a disgusting form of welcome. Your kind and gracious African American staff above all made my experience wonderful. However, I would never return to a place devoted to giving the likes of Trump-excusing sociopaths a dollar of mine. I will be writing corporate but imagine you are just a franchise using the Marriott brand to make a buck. You shouldn’t sully their name and reputation by force feeding the public your personal political issues. Period. You’re a hospitality establishment made to serve the public. Not your own interests. No one who comes to this place for a room should have to be politically proselytized (look that up if need be) We come in need of a rest from the world. Not having it shoved in our faces against our wills. The nice woman explained sometimes CNN is screened on the back TV but all I saw was all lobby televisions lock step on Fox. Respect the variety of visitors to Charleston. They don’t all support your POV!!!!

2 Great Stays in 1 Week I was here for one night with my mother and sister and back later in the week with my kids and husband. I was very happy with this hotel. Both rooms were clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. I thought it looked like the inside had been upgraded since the outside looked a little dated. Our first 2 days the pool was closed. We didn't use it once it did open. I will say it was a tiny little pool. The exercise room was nice though. Breakfast was weird due to Covid. But the lady running it was helpful, running back to find different cereal for my kiddos. Tyler, the night desk worker, was fabulous. He gave us great suggestions for dinner. He was quick to respond to requests for help. I would stay here again. Great option for visiting Charleston without the Charleston prices.
