Lovely getaway! After a long delay of almost six years, we were finally able to return to the Old Saybrook Econo Lodge and we weren't disappointed. This family-run business has been carefully renovated with carpetless hardwood no-smoking rooms, queen- and king-size beds, all-new bathroom fixtures, a spotless swimming pool and all the usual expected in-room amenities: free WiFi, large flatscreen t.v., refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner, etc. And it's pet friendly! This Econo Lodge is set back from the road next to a large pond graced by a beautiful Victorian gazebo and watched over by a swan sculpture perched on a large rock outcropping. On weekends, you can help yourself to a generous breakfast of do-it-yourself fresh waffles, fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, cereal, coffee or tea and apple or orange juice. Nearby day trips can include Foxwoods and Mohegan casinos, the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (known as "the Kate"), the seaport town of Mystic with a great aquarium and nearby day or sunset sailing cruises, and gorgeous Hammonassett Beach. Perhaps the nicest feature are the live-in owners and long-time staff, who are always so welcoming and make you feel right at home. We'll be back!

Disappointed The Front Desk person that answered the phone told me to go ahead and sue and file another civil Rights complaints against their current owner and the one in Davenport Iowa. I was suprised. Instead of working my concern out. Then he hung up on me several times. This property owner owns hotel in Davenport IA where my concern is. I m disappointed I will have to sue them, But they leave me no choice to get my point to them.

Very Disappointed Came for a wedding hosted at Old Saybrook Inn and Resort Do not be fooled with photos. Basically a run down Motel 6. Highly disappointed paying $200 a night. Would have had a better experience paying more and being comfortable. Room was well used and dated. Family owned and operated and looked like they lived on site. Not an issue but the children were very young and all over the place. Do yourself a favor and explore other options.

Disappointing..! Decent hotel, could use some upgrades. I had made reservations for the suite with the jacuzzi, upon checking in my room it smelled like smoke, carpet was dirty and furniture had black magic marker stain to cover up something. Hardly anyone is at the front desk, you have to ring a bell then the speak to you from a speaker, very unprofessional and very impersonal. Also, no coffee, no breakfast, you have to ring a bell to grab a bag. As I travel quite frequently, this has stopped since the pandemic ended. I did find one hotel a few months back that did this, they are very cheap and still using a pandemic that has ended as a way to save money. Also, my toiletries were half used, disgusting. Hotel is so cheap they can't even give you unused products. Very disappointed.

It was Okay The room was clean. The heat was good. They did supply free bus to get back to shopping center two miles away, from the town. Pick room on second floor there will be less noise! Also, TV was good many stations.
