Safety Issues I was woken up during the night by the light sockets popping and sparking. They continued all night long, I stayed awake all night making sure nothing caught on fire. We told the staff when checking out the next morning she didn't seem concerned.

terrible hotel, nice staff. overall terrible hotel to stay at, the rooms were alright besides the fan in the bathroom being full of dust and grime + the lamp on the desk didn't work. the pictures on the website made the rooms look larger than they actually were. pullout bed in the couch (and the couch itself) was extremely uncomfortable in the king room. it rained slightly and the tv stopped getting connection because of it. wifi was extremely shady and my laptops security system told me to disconnect immediately because it was a "very unsafe network", as well as it being an open connection. they only mentioned construction on the website and it wrote that it was going to begin at 9. the construction started at 8am making it near impossible to sleep while they hammered the walls on the 3rd floor. one of the elevators was out of service because of this and the workers crowded the elevator waiting area with their things and constantly had to use the elevator to go up to the 3rd floor, so the wait time would occasionally be 3 minutes. the staff at the front desk was friendly, but other than that, i would not recommend this hotel. won't be coming back again.

Wonderful place - very clean! This was a very clean hotel, the rooms were large, the beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for our toddler and two dogs to play in the room. Never heard any of the other patrons, breakfast was great- they even had fresh cantaloupe and honeydew! We walked in without a reservation and the staff were very accommodating.

A Disheartening Stay at Hyatt Place, Kansas City During a recent stay at the Hyatt Place in Kansas City, my family's health and well-being were compromised due to severe negligence. Upon discovering mold in our room's air conditioning unit, a situation gravely concerning for its potential health hazards, particularly as we were traveling with a toddler, the hotel's management failed to uphold the standards expected of a reputable establishment. The communication from the management team was not only insufficient but dismissively poor. Despite numerous attempts to address this serious health concern, the response was lackluster, and the refusal to issue a refund was bewildering. This disregard for basic hospitality ethics and customer care raises significant doubts about the managerial competence and the hotel’s commitment to guest safety. Such a dire lapse in standards at a renowned hotel chain like Hyatt is not only disappointing but alarming. It is imperative that potential guests are aware of these severe oversights. I urge Hyatt Place to reevaluate its protocols and management training programs to ensure that future guests do not experience a similar disregard for their health and safety.
