Comfort Inn Oxford - University Area

AVOID THIS DIRTY HOTEL WITH BBs -28/100. Disgusting! Our room smelled awful and had not been properly cleaned in a long while. Started taking photos of how gross it was before we got to inspecting the beds (as we always do). Yup, found TONS! Front desk was not surprised at all and offered us the room next door. Nope! Refund us, because we are outta here!

Choice Hotels needs to drop this hotel! _ Do not stay at this hotel - Mom’s Weekend at Miami University. Availability was limited, I had stayed at this exact Comfort Inn a couple years ago, it was clean and I had a decent stay. I don’t know what’s happened, but in all sincerity, I do not believe this hotel has been cleaned properly in over a year or perhaps longer. It was filthy - worse than any fraternity house in Oxford! I knew something was up on arrival - counter when checking in had coffee stains and strange old food order in lobby. Elevator - didn’t want to press buttons - covered in grime;elevator walls were covered in finger prints and it appears a soda or sobering of beverage had been sprayed all over, even the floor of elevator appeared unwashed and litter remained scattered in elevator throughout my stay. Floors - throughout hotel were dirty Guest room - on walking in my room smelled of urine - BAD! The shower was dirty with deep ground black crud, mold, rust around drain, the shower curtain was stained yellow - mix of urine and mold, toilet bowl had mold rings and clearly hadn’t been washed appropriately in months, my shoes stuck to the floors. The bed - deep yellow stains on sheets, Pillow - don’t ask me how but there were dirty footprints on 2 of the pillow cases- like someone had stepped on them wearing work boots. Even the phone & remote control was covered in grime - hadn’t been touched with a cleaning wipe in over a year is my guess! It was thoroughly the most disgustingly dirty hotel room I have ever experienced. I travel extensively and have stayed in a number of Choice Hotel - this was unlike anything I’ve seen before! Unfortunately I was unable to find alternate accommodations with 30 miles due to Moms weekend selling out Oxford and neighboring communities. I asked management to change my room - I asked for cleaning supplies, as realized even if they attempted to clean the room they didn’t know how to properly clean. I ended up buying cleaning supplies, shower shoes and sheets/blanket for bed. Seriously do not stay at this hotel - _

I did have a good night's sleep and was rested in the morning. If that's all you're looking for, then this place would be OK. I Very slow check in. Burnt out light bulbs in room. We were not informed the pool was closed. Breakfast was absolutely the minimum. There was no cream for the coffee. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. The staff was very friendly.

Property in bad condition. See photos. Property was disgusting (see photos). Pool closed and looked horrible. Breakfast was bad and there were flying nats in food bins. Shower was cold and hardly sprayed water. Heat did not work. Bathtub was dirty. Toilet was dirty. Gym was small and after two days water jug not filled/replaced. Hallways filthy The team there "seems" to be trying but it's an uphill battery with condition of property.

Be warned I find it difficult to give my review for this hotel even 1 star. I reserved a room for 2 nights for a visit to Miami University. We stayed in room 308. The room had no hot water, the toilet did not flush, and the water pressure was not strong enough in the sink to brush my teeth. I checked out a night early due to the deplorable conditions. Read the reviews and you will see that my concerns are not unique. Spend your money elsewhere.
