Very enjoyable stay I booked a marina view room for one night. After reading the more recent reviews here, I did not have much expectation, and was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and clean, no weird smell whatsoever. The furnitures and carpet looked fine to me. I like having a wireless charger in the room. Free breakfast was more than ok. There were hot foods like eggs and sausages, pastries and cereals. I liked making my own chocolate waffles. Best part was, I was able to enjoy a quiet breakfast on the balcony with the nice view. It was really relaxing. I thought the security was good. Keys are required to go into any part of the buildings, except the front entrance. I paid for hotel parking, but I wonder if I could park outside on the street. There are local farms within a 5 minute drive from the hotel where one can get some fresh produce, flowers and honey. The next time I’m staying in Oxnard I would love to book this hotel again.

You will likely find better value elsewhere Bottom line up front: We paid $220 + $12 parking on a Sunday night. We will be looking elsewhere the next time we stay in this area. The property is an older one, but they have made some updates. The desk staff were friendly at check-in and helpful. The hallway carpets were absolutely filthy. I can tell you they have never seen a carpet cleaner. I’ve seen cleaner carpet at movie theaters. As far as the room: - The tile floor and bathroom areas were clean and well maintained. The towels and linens are clean. - The carpet is worn, filthy, with several of the carpet squares are coming unglued. - Furniture - the office chair in the room broken/bent so you really couldn’t it. The sofa had holes in the cushions and grease marks all over. It looks like people ate greasy food and wiped their hands all over it. There was no way we would sit on it, so it became a luggage stand. - AC unit was on the louder side and way under powered. Or perhaps the air filter hasn’t been cleaned, but I wasn’t about to check it. - Balcony - it had a couple of chairs and a table. The exterior of the building on the balcony was gross. It looked like someone threw coffee or soda at 2 out of the 3 walls and the floor was nasty too. It really needed a power washing.

Cheap Hotel, Needs Major Upgrade The view was the nice; however, although even though we are diamond members, we were only able to get a room on the lowest floor. This place is worn, old and tired. It is overpriced too. There were a few issues in our room which we reported directly. I never had a list of items that if taken would be charged. See photo. One staff person working the front desk was friendly and helpful. Because of the shape that the hotel was in, I do not plan to return.

Great marina hotel Great marina hotel. The marina view rooms were exceptional so was the staff. A great value compared to Santa Barbara overpriced hotels. A short drive to many local restaurants and shops. 5 min walk to Toppers pizza.

Great hotel - but won't return due to one big issue We stayed here one night about two days ago. Front desk staff was very friendly. Good location and great view of the marina if you get a marina view. There is a little park nearby for kids. The pool is heated and great for little kids. Rooms are reasonably sized and comfortable. When I walked into our room, it had a little bit of a funky smell, but that aired out quickly when I opened the balcony door for a bit. If you own pets, they appear to allow pets, so great for you. If you DON'T own pets, be prepared for flea/bug roulette. My son got a bunch of bug bites overnight. The bugs were definitely in the room and were not mosquitoes. I was spared for the short time we were there, but the fleas (or whatever kind of bugs they are) hitched a ride in our luggage and continue to occasionally nip at me. Though I liked everything else about the hotel, I will not return due to the pet policy. There is no way the hotel can possibly clean rooms effectively between stays if there are animals coming in and out. I'm sure they don't have a veterinarian screening every pet for fleas and ticks, and unless they're bombing every room for fleas and ticks between stays, you're just going to be at the mercy of the flea gods. Bummer because otherwise it's a really nice place to stay. If you have pets and/or don't get bit by bugs, it's a great hotel!
