RUDE AND DISGUSTING STAFF DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE As an assistant general manager for Marriott and previous GM for Hilton I am appalled at the service my family experienced at this property- From the Front Desk, to The Housekeeping staff and the General Manager who decided to give me an option of a refund or fire the staff- My family and I own property in Palatka and we are currently renovating a home- After it getting late my husband decided to walk in and book a room at this property (which he stays at all the time) so he does not need to stay at a home that currently has no power or water during renovations- after a later check-in he asked for a late check out and was granted a 1pm check out by the PM shift (LOUIS) which was written down on the pass on log at the front desk. This morning 11/10/24 housekeeping proceeded to knock on the door to clean the room. After being told he had a late check out the staff became rude and nasty telling him "We don't do late check out you need to get out or we are calling the police" (this is all recorded) They also stated, "We deal with bitches like you all the time and we still here"! I am appalled at how the staff at this property is allowed to speak to guest paying money to stay at this establishment. Not to mention the room was a dirty room (infested with roaches, roach bates (pictures will be attached)- and my husband cleaned the room just to get a night's rest before having to get up to go back and finish working on our home- When I contacted the General Manager he made several comments about the staff member having serious medical issues and listed a list of issues (which is not professional) telling me she is on medication for depression, she has anxiety, does not sleep ETC. This seemed like an excuse to allow his staff to continue treating guest this poorly! As a hotel AGM for Marriott myself I would never allow my staff to speak to any guest in this manner. I am seeking a full refund, and I have already reported this property to Choice hotels corporate team. The staff also mentioned that he is a "private owner" and "corporate cannot do nothing to him" which I know is not accurate! Corporate expects their franchised owners to represent their brand up to brand standard and this hotel is a disgrace to the choice brand- I am absolutely appalled with what transpired today and that no part of management stepped in to de-escalate the situation in fact police were called and my husband was trespassed! I will be seeking a full refund and ensuring no one else spends their money at this establishment. I will take this to the top of your corporate team. I must also mention the general manager hung the call up after telling me he could not tell me when he would be back on property because he lives in Palm Coast but he will issue a refund as long as we never go back to the property. Again! completely unprofessional being that his staff was rude and nasty to a guest- I will be sharing the video with the corporate team as it will not allow me to load here.

Scroll on and find something else I rarely write a negative review. This hotel was horrible. The rooms smell, the walls have stains on them, it needs to be gutted. After picking up the remote, I had to immediately wash my hands and didn't sleep at all that night thinking about it. I'm okay with an "old" place but it has to be clean. The beds were clean and the water was hot, that's about all I can say. We left early.

Horrible staffing Have a reservation for a room for a week. Upon arrival sat at front desk for 45 min calling a ringing bell an no one would show up. Kind of ridiculous no one is at the front desk. I along with 3 other people have been waiting to get checked into our rooms we have reserved

Good & bad We traveled from Key West to Palatka. The bed was really nice and we slept well. However, there was a pair of underwear & shorts from à previously guest hanging on the bathroom door making us wonder how well the room was cleaned. There was also à strong odor of marijuana in the hall.

A Convenient Location and a a Comfy Bed But...... The Sleep Inn was conveniently located with a very short drive near my relative's home. There is a Mexican restaurant nearby as a well as a gas station with mini mart.The queen bed was very comfortable in a huge albeit worn-looking room. There were a few things lacking. They don't do wake-up calls. You must use your room key to get you into the lobby after 11:30 PM. They would not take postcards to be mailed at front desk. Their breakfast was adequate but some of the offerings were tasteless. Nevertheless I appreciate the breads and yogurt since I don't eat eggs and meat. Can't comment on the outdoor pool as I never visited. An adjoining guest had his/her TV on loudly all night my last night. Mentioned it at front desk. I did not expect them to do much but perhaps a wellness check for that guest was in order.
