Mercure Paris 19 Philharmonie La Villette

Air conditioning never worked Not what we expected. Website photos are a huge lie. Air conditioners did not work the entire time we stayed. The room was mediocre and needs a remodel. We were not provided enough towels or pillows for a family. Breakfast was also mediocre and one morning we were given cold eggs. The bar area first thing in the morning was nasty and not cleaned from the night before. Just a few steps away, there were very sketchy people loitering and people sleeping on the street on the next corner.

Good location for gig at Trabendo Location of the hotel was ideal for a gig at Trabeno. Rooms were clean but carpet was dirty, no mattress protectors, just felt grubby. However we slept well and the bed was comfy, receptionist did not speak any English. Car park is really hard to find it’s actually right next to hotel but we missed it and had to turn around in the chaotic Paris traffic!

Ideal if you’re going to Zenith! Ideal location if you have a concert at Zénith! Says it’s a 4 star but more a 3 star, room service snacking menu was broken via their QR code on the website which was disappointing after a long day travelling. We tried calling down to room service and reception but the phone lines wasn’t working. Very clean, and big room.

Average - not 4 star The hotel is very average and is ok if you are just using it for a place to sleep. It doesn’t quite seem up to a usual 4 star hotel, the facilities aren’t great, in your bedroom you don’t get normal tea bags you get one lemon tea and one earl grey which is odd for two people sharing. You also only get two sugars and nothing to stir your drink with? You also have bamboo cups to drink from which makes it quite difficult. The room and bathroom were quite tired, our bedroom had what looked like spilt drink marks up the wall which could easily have been wiped away but made the room look quite dirty. The bed was far too firm for both of our liking so found it difficult to sleep comfortably but I understand that’s personal preference. Although not a major problem at all, there are very few English channels on the tv just as a warning. Our shower was cold the first day but somehow fixed itself. We were very disappointed that the hotel doesn’t have its own bar? Went for a drink on Friday at around 4pm to find that the bar closes after breakfast on Friday and only reopens for breakfast Saturday and then shuts again so not ideal if the weather is terrible or you just fancy a drink before heading out. I’ve never been to anywhere, particularly a 4 star hotel where you can’t get a drink. Finally, apparently breakfast is good, we didn’t try it as it’s €21 which seems extortionate and there were far better options around the hotel.

Clean, comfortable and ideal for a quick stay Friendly, helpful staff and a clean and comfortable room. Breakfast very nice with lots of choice. Room could do with a refresh but no complaints. Although the hotel knew we we were a group of 4 they only supplied 2 pillows and each day only 2 towels - it was a bit annoying to keep asking for more. On the while it was ideal and a convenient location to explore Paris.
