They took our money—then took our room! We made reservations at the Paso Robles Inn over three months in advance to attend a destination wedding. The booking was made through the Chase Credit Card travel portal, which is serviced by Expedia. We prepaid over $900 for a two-night stay. Less than 48 hours before our arrival, we received a call stating that the hotel had accidentally overbooked and was canceling our reservation. The hotel offered no assistance or compensation, merely suggesting that we could stay at their “sister property” down the street—at about twice the price we had already paid. It’s important to note that the hotel canceled our prepaid reservation after the cancellation deadline had passed. Had we canceled ourselves, we would have forfeited a minimum of one night's stay, and possibly the whole amount we paid (at the hotel's discretion). Yet the hotel felt free to cancel without penalty. They passed the issue to Expedia, who in turn shifted responsibility to Chase. The service we received from both the Paso Robles Inn and Expedia was unacceptable. If there were rooms available at a related property, the hotel should have honored our reservation by providing an upgrade—not by canceling at the last minute. Clearly, at this hotel, a prepaid reservation does not guarantee you’ll actually have a room. We were also disappointed that Expedia, despite its size and resources, did nothing to advocate for us or offer any form of compensation. Ultimately, we received a refund and had to scramble to book a new hotel on our own. From my understanding, canceling a prepaid room without offering a comparable alternative may constitute a breach of contract under California law, and potentially qualifies as an unfair or deceptive business practice. The hotel had access to a room at a sister property but refused to honor the original price. They made no effort to make things right—and didn’t even apologize. The one bright spot was Chase Travel Services. They were courteous and professional throughout, though ultimately limited in their ability to resolve the situation.

Great Hotel We stayed at Paso Robles Inn for five nights as we visited wineries in the area. The hotel is wonderful, so clean, and the grounds are immaculate. The restaurants are great and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional. The rooms seem recently updated which was very nice. The hotel is right across the street from a beautiful park which is surrounded by lovely restaurants and wine tasting rooms. We will stay here again.

Bad birthday experience. 1/21/25 - 1/22/25 Room 1008 - for room 1008 map shows 2 separate buildings but they are actually connected, very confusing. - 2 thermostats, one for the fireplace and one for the heating/AC system. Difficult to get the room to the right temperature. - bathroom was constantly cold throughout our stay. - only one Keurig pod for one of coffee. - sliding glass door did not slide, difficult to open or close. - no hot water in the morning, could not shower. - TV did not work at all, constant “accessing…. “ msg on th screen. - tried to call front desk but phones did not work, completely dead. - after complaining at checkout, response was “we’re sorry, will that be cash or credit card?” All this while celebrating a milestone birthday!

Wrong choice We have been staying at the Paso Robles Inn for the last three years…stayed there maybe ten years before as well. Hotel has been remodeled …nice changes…but the customer service end has declined…this visit was horrible. We asked friends to join us in Paso…they booked without deals at the Inn…we booked and it took us several hours to have our room ready for check in…we arrived before check in, asked front desk if our room was near our friends and downstairs…room sounded fine…when we were told our room was ready to check in, the room was a different room upstairs…we asked for a downstairs room because there is no elevator and we have mobility issues…so now another wait as housekeeping isn’t answering… Finally got out room at 6:00. We booked for a king bed room and finally got a room with two double beds…and to make matters worse, we didn’t have coffee, ice bucket bags, glasses, and more…did this happen because we used Chase Travel points and the hotel doesn’t care about this relationship? Sent an email to the GM this morning and have not had response…we love going to Paso, about a three hour trip, from our home..fun wine , great fun and now looking for a Better Hotel experience…Great location but maybe the GM is too busy managing The Picolo Hotel and Paso Robles Inn… ownership change and disappointment…
