Great Staff - Great Stay Crazy stay, the hotel was hit by the Microsoft glitch and the plastic keys did not work, neither did the digital one. The staff did an excellent job of letting guest in, and moving around the hotel. The place is clean and well maintained, and quiet even with the freeway out back. The room we stayed in (409) was perfect, and the air conditioner worked GREAT. The staff was friendly, even under the crazy Microsoft glitch with the keys. Great Stay...

Replace pillows First the facilities are very nice. The breakfast area is large and the staff is friendly. However, housekeeping could be better. When we got to our room, the bed was barely made. It almost looked like someone slept in it. There were only 2 washcloths and 3 towels for the 4 of us. Our shoes stuck to the tile floor like it was mopped with syrup. Finally, the pillows need replaced badly. See the attached picture. I didn't even want to put my head on the pillows, but left mine in the car. The breakfast had the usual Hampton Inn fare, although the eggs and potatoes were rather over done. This was our last Hampton stay before heading home after a 2 week cross country trek. It was not my favorite Hampton that we stayed in, but not so bad that I wouldn't stay again if needed.

A nice place to see, once. There isn’t much selection in Peru, IL and being a Hilton member I decided on the Hampton Inn over other choices. The app check in process was a breeze, the hotel seemed clean and not dated. There were two issues with my room. My refrigerator did not work at all. The other was a very wobbly toilet. I was going to let maintenance know about that discovery when checking on the refrigerator but no one ever came. Not a huge deal. On the evening of the first night of my stay, some friends and I decided to meet in the lobby to catch up and have a drink. After 10 minutes of sitting in the dim light just off the reception area we were notified that the lobby was closed. At 10pm. I’ve never been to a hotel where the main lobby closes. The front desk clerk informed us that it was their policy. He gave us another few minutes to chat and told us it was time to move on.

Worst Hampton I Have Stayed In My first impression was not great since there were children running around behind and climbing on the front desk. The person at the desk asked the children to leave since they were "going to get me in trouble." I had a wake/funeral to attend and when I made my reservation I had requested early check in. I reserved one of the suites on the 4th floor (I guess there are only 2 in the hotel from what I understand from the front desk person). I arrived at 2:15 and was told the room was not ready. The front desk person said things were behind because you were sold out the night before. I do understand that a request is not a guarantee. I then asked if there was another suite clean and was told no. Then asked for a queen room on 4th floor and again told no. This took aproximately 15 minutes. I asked how long it would be for the room to be ready (the front desk person had already asked the cleaner to expedite getting the room clean since they hadn't been in the room yet). She told me about 15 minutes and I agreed to wait. After 30 minutes I went back to ask and she said "I don't know how long it will be." She didn't follow up with "I'll go see", or "I'll find out." I had to ask her to please find out. I had already said I was attending a wake/funeral and needed to be there soon. She went upstairs, came down and did not speak to me. Again I went to the desk to find out what was happening. After 45 mins I was given the key and went up to the room. The cleaner was still in the room for another few minutes. She said that "this was not my room, but I did it. The other person who was supposed to do it had to leave to go pick up her daughter at school." I thanked her. I immediately went to check the sheets and you can see the pictures below for all of the hair that was in the bed. By this time the original front desk person was gone and another person (male - who was extremely nice) answered the phone. I told him that someone needed to change the sheets on both beds after I left for the evening, since apparently it was not done to begin with. When I arrived back the sheets had been changed - I thanked the front desk. The floors were filthy as you can see from how my feet looked after walking around. There were only 5 clothes hangers in the room, 3 of them were for trousers. I would also like to add that my friends also had a reservation at the hotel for Tuesday night. They came at 8:30 PM and were told that they had oversold the hotel and there was nothing they could do about it. My friend's dad was the one who died and had the funeral to attend. They were turned away without any help of finding another hotel. I have tried to talk to the GM, Debra Carson, and have sent several emails and have not heard from her. I have been an HHONORS member since 1995 (mostly Gold - lost status after Covid) and this has to be one of the worst experiences at a Hampton that I have had.

Needs an update Shower didn't work the first day... at all. Took a lot to get it fixed. Towel racks falling off wall. Room phone did not work. Place is kind of a dump. I would have moved across the road to the Fairfield but they were full.
