Great Location for Visiting Historic Sights! We enjoyed staying within walking distance to many locations of historic importance! The hotel itself is not really extra-special, but it is nice, and the lobby is clean. You're basically paying for the location. We found the employees at the front to be kind and helpful. The complaint we had was the lack of housekeeping services. During our 3-night stay, we never had any service at all. I can make my own bed, but appreciate new, clean towels, removal of any trash in the cans, refill of tissues, coffee packets, etc. We asked a couple of housekeepers in the hallway, but they said we were "not on their list" and didn't offer any new towels, etc. We ate in the "Coins" cafe three times, and it was average.

Cleanliness is terrible, no housekeeping for 4 days and counting… Cleanliness is terrible. Stayed here 6 nights and did not get housekeeping service for 4 days straight. I booked 2 rooms and saw the housekeeping staff everyday but they did not clean either of our rooms the last 4 days. I talked to front desk staff on two separate occasions and this did not get addressed. Still no housekeeping. No trash take out or fresh towels. These are basic necessities that shouldn’t be hard to come by. Bathroom is old and subpar. The room walls and hallways are dingy.

Terrible staff The staff at this hotel are some of the worst I’ve ever experienced in 25 years of travelling. They made a truly dreadful experience.. first issue was at check in.. staff talking amongst themselves wasn’t a good start. Eventually got my key card went to my room keys hadn’t been activated. Had to go down to get it activated.. room service is advertised in the room however the hotel doesn’t offer room service. The bar is supposed to be open 7 days a week.. however it was closed 2 days whilst I was there. Staff in the bar and restaurant seem to think it’s an inconvenience to serve customers. Rooms are serviced every other day.. however mine was only serviced once in 6 days after I had to call 3 times to reception.. zero apologies again. To top it all off they made me go down to reception to get fresh towels they couldn’t even be bothered to bring it up. Finally I asked for last checkout… the reception said that was possible I had to push them to confirm the price.. honestly they seem to struggle with basic customer conversations at this hotel. Anyway I returned at 1pm checkout was 2pm and I was locked out of the room. The cleaning staff said this happened all the time.. anyway I went downstairs and they claimed I’d put my card close to my phone.. which was nonsense it was clear they’d forgotten about my request. Again they still charged me for my late checkout. I’ve provided feedback to Wyndham about this horror show and received a generic email… which shows how seriously they take this. If you fancy a hotel where you feel like an inconvenience staying feel free to visit. However when you are paying serious cash to stay id like to be treated as a paying customer.

Except for the location, not worth the expense! I walked down to your restaurant and asked if I could have an order to take up to my room. Based on the previous day's menu, I was hoping to get a simple and CHEAP sandwich and return to my room. To my surprise, there was nothing cheap and small to order. I decided on the least expensive item and ordered it. When it was FINALLY ready, I began to sign the receipt and the bartender told me that he had automatically added a 15%tip... I was not told before ordering that this would be done and would have preferred the right to decide on what, if any, tip was appropriate. In this case zero tip was earned since I did the retrieval and delivery myself. Between the auto tip and taxes, my bill was over $20 for a simple quesedilla for which I waited over 20 minutes and delivered myself. I should not have been assessed this auto tip for unearned work and WITHOUT ADVANCED NOTICE!! The room was no better than the average Wyndham found off of the highway. For the nightly rate and taxes I paid, I expected much better. The only outstanding aspect was the location.
