Pool day and cabana rental We had a group of 9 using the pool area for the day. We rented a cabana through Resort Pass. The pools are pretty and all of the employees were extremely helpful and patient. Our cabana wasn't the greatest. Comfy furniture, but too big for the space. The mini fridge door was a little broken and there was an electrical box or something sticking out of the ground at the cabana opening. They had a big plastic fake rock thing covering it, but it was very bulky and we kept running into it. They are doing some construction which I understand things like that have to get done sometimes, but there was no hot tub and we were sat near the construction and listened to the equipment the whole time. We ordered food and lots of drinks. Everything was very good. Just do not get a lime flavored margarita _. Everything is pretty pricey and our food/drink bill came to around $400.00 for all of us. I think given the current atmosphere within the cabana and upper pool area, $200.00 for the cabana is a little much even with a maximum of 8 guests.

Construction Warning Just a warning they are under construction. It was difficult to find the registration as there were no signs I saw. There is no real gift shop and Starbucks selection is minimal. Only one pool behind registration. I had originally booked my room but when I got there is was close to the construction. I imagine it will be nice in a couple of years but for now not a 4 star hotel. It would have been nice if I had been told of all the construction. I bring my grandkids for the River Ranch but won't be staying here again.

Overall, not bad Stayed here for a conference & it wasn’t too bad. The lobby, cafe, & overall layout of the property was good. It’s pretty spread out with a BBQ restaurant nearby as well as a small waterpark. I would agree that the decor seemed out of date (at the time of my stay). There is a Mexican restaurant (Aunt Chilada’s) as well as an Italian restaurant (Tutti Santi) within walking distance that were really good, highly recommend both.

Great stay! We had a great stay! When we needed anything from the cleaning staff they would get it for us right away. Fun water park in the backyard!

Overpriced, falling apart, and hidden fees. Another bad review for a hotel that doesn't need any more. We had to stay at this hotel for a weekend during a dance competition. The good first: the landscaping is pretty and the water park area is reasonably clean and enjoyable to be at. The bad: The hotel is far overpriced for it's dated and falling apart facilities. The wood trim on the windows is rotting, the door has to be slammed to be shut properly, there are stains all over the furniture, the mini-fridge cabinet in the room is missing the door panel because a previous occupant kicked it in, the concrete balconies are stained and pitted, etc. You get the idea. All for $~300/night plus a $20-$40/night resort fee. The restaurant (Hole in the wall BBQ) has friendly staff, but the food quality is bad. Dried, hard breakfast potatoes with an omelet dripping in oil for $22, bland, boring nachos with chicken for $22. You get the idea. We didn't try their BBQ, so perhaps that is better. The real disappointment are the hidden fees. We were charged $2 for maid service we never received, and $9 for bellperson service we never received, nor did we have any contact or interaction with a bellperson or any other hotel staff. I reached out to the hotel about the fees and they punted on the matter, indicating is was part of the group contract and there's nothing they could do. It was never communicated to me in the initial booking or in any of the documents I reviewed or received. I don't care as much about the $11, but the lack of care on the part of the hotel was fitting for the rest of our experience there. If you stay at the hotel, I'd keep your expectations low and a close eye on the end bill.
