Staycation Had a staycation with my kids, ages 14 and 10. Son had a blast at the water park. Sadly the water park closes at 6pm. Main pool at 10pm. Rooms were a decent size with a refrigerator, coffee machine, but no microwave which kind of sucks.. Some areas in the resort are under construction.

Transparency If you’re the kind of family that knows how to roll with the punches and go the extra mile to create your own fun, this hotel can work for you. Fortunately, we upgraded to an Ambassador Suite with a connecting room, which gave us plenty of space and made a big difference in our overall comfort. That said, if you’re the type who expects everything to run smoothly and be available at the press of a button, this may not be the right fit. Our experience was a mix of highs and lows. On the downside: no room service, elevators out of order for half our stay, broken vending machines, a mysteriously closed pool bar, and cigarette smoke just about everywhere—including from staff. A week prior to arrival, we were assured all amenities would be available despite ongoing renovations. That simply wasn’t the case. But instead of letting those issues ruin our trip, we focused on what was working—and we were pleasantly surprised. The hole-in-the-wall restaurant and the River Ranch were both excellent. Housekeeping was consistently helpful, Julia at the River Ranch pool delivered top-tier service, and Mike at the front desk was friendly and informative. In the end, we had a fantastic vacation because we chose to focus on the positive. Still, this hotel could drastically reduce the number of negative reviews by being more transparent with guests about what’s available and what’s not. Expectations matter, and setting them honestly goes a long way.

Completely disappointing My family and I visited the Hilton Resort at the Peak around a month ago. Our experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, I believe the hotel should be more upfront about its current condition. There are ongoing renovations and significant construction work. This resulted in several buildings and pools being closed, along with limited parking availability. We selected this hotel because of the water park and swim-up bar. Unfortunately, the swim-up bar was not operational, and accessing the water park required crossing a large parking lot, which was not ideal. Additionally, the on-site restaurants are all situated on the water park property and have restricted hours. The one pool that was open became overcrowded as soon as the water park closed. The property appeared neglected, and the elevators had a strong odor of urine. It felt more like a budget motel than a resort. Our room was spacious, but we encountered several problems. The shower provided only about two minutes of hot water before turning icy cold, if we were lucky. Often, there was no hot water at all. We discovered a sanitary bathing suit liner stuck to the bathroom door, left by the previous guest. There were multiple missing light bulbs and only one remote for two TVs. In the lobby, coffee and refills were chargeable, which I found extremely frustrating and unnecessary. We provided our feedback and requested to be contacted, but we never received a response. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

As a "hotel with a pool" it's okay but overpriced. If you consider this simply as a "hotel with a pool" the I would say it's pretty good. Unfortunately, it fancies itself a resort, although I've never actually stayed there for more than one night---maybe there's more to it. As a hotel with a pool, it's badly overpriced. I stay there because the location is perfect for me, visiting family across the street.

Negative Experience My first experience at this resort is okay. Pros- The pool and lazy river. I also liked being able to have my own float and the lazy river. Cons- Checking in for the water park was not easy to find. We thought the gate where you go to check-in was just for guests (we bought day passes). It was also difficult to find the lobby due to renovations going on. The South lobby is closed, we had to go to the North lobby. Most of the staff was rude especially the guy at the front desk. My husband and I will not be returning to this resort due to the rudeness of staff. Suggestions: better signage is needed especially by the gate where you go to check into the waterpark. I would have the sign where you can see it from the parking lot. The reason we had difficulty finding the check-in is because we thought gate was for hotel guests. You could not see the sign until you got really close to the gate. If the sign had been where you can see it in the parking lot it would’ve made things a lot smoother.
