Great weekend trip! Will definitely stay again. We had a great weekend trip with our granddaughter. Maria helped her with the gem mining and she was terrific. She was very knowledgeable and helped my granddaughter to have a great experience and learn more about each individual gem. Love...love...love Maria so very nice! And the breakfast at Granny Cluckett's---wonderful experience and great food.

Fun Waterslides, Rooms Need Major Improvement Our family of 5 (2 adults, 1 teen, 2 children) have an overall enjoyable stay at County Cascades. The amenities are nice, especially for younger families, and the waterslides are plenty of fun. Having said that, the rooms a sub-par and there is much better value to be had for your money in the area (we stayed at multiple hotels in Pigeon Forge during our stay). Pros: -Great waterslides, both indoor and outdoor -Good family amenities including the arcade, laser game, mini-ball bowling, rock climbing, and more -Friendly, helpful staff -Plenty of convenient parking -Great location, within walking distance to the Island. Cons: -Rooms are dated, dirty, and run down ->Beds aren't very comfortable, have undersized bedsheets ->AC was extremely loud ->The pull out sofa was terribly uncomfortable for our teen ->The shower head is about 5 feet from the ground making showers awkward -Maintenance not only failed to fix our loud AC issue, they made it worse -No full housekeeping service. You receive new towels daily and trash is emptied. Given the high cost (compared to other area hotels that are much nicer), they need to do more -Limited hours of waterslide operation. Although the waterslides were a highlight, they generally weren't open when it was convenient for us to use them -The pool water was absolutely disgusting, especially in the indoor pool -Don't waste your money on a "mountain room" upgrade. The view is mostly of a residential building. In addition, you are moved to a separate building from the main facility which is definitely not preferrable. Overall, the family had a good time. The only thing unique here are the slides and the amenities. You need to plan to use those A LOT to make this hotel worth it above other options.

Don't waste your money We requested a room that would be close to the pools because we have issues walking. We were put in the second building which made getting back & forth very difficult. For my youngest son (2 1/2) it wasn't that bad he couldn't get to the pool as he developed a horrible rash. My husband & I both felt itchy as well. The should pressure in the bathroom was so strong it hurt to take a shower. It felt like pin & needles. On day 3 & day 4 I asked if housekeeping would clean the rooms. They refused both times. They did give me everything so I could do it, because that's what you want to do on vacation! I did ask for a vacuum, but no one ever brought one. Plus, in the room do not all work. My husband & I both have cpap but after having mind on for an hour I woke up suddenly because the plug didn't work. That's dangerous. Air conditioner doesn't work well. I had it as cold as it would go (61) & we were still hot! Thank God we had brought a small fan. The breakfast was horrible; it was cold & my whole family got sick. Also, I didn't feel like it was enough room for the 4 of us, 2 adults, & 2 kids. Yes, I requested to speak to the manager a couple of times, but they were always unavailable. Yes, we thought about leavening and going to another hotel, but when your disabled & have 2 kids that's a lot of work.

So not worth it Got to the front desk with prepaid reservations for 2 nights (over $350/night) and desk clerk didn't know how to register us and kept charging our debit card saying it was payment issue. We stopped him on 3rd attempt (and charge to our acct) and he got help finally. There is no microwave or coffee maker in the room but you can pay for it (overpriced) downstairs. Dont bring cash though... whole hotel is cashless so if you want a cookie you need to use a card or go to the kiosk and exchange cash for a card. Attendants were young and not friendly ignoring us, sink plunger doesn't work and sink held water. Towels were on floor under the sink as there's no shelves in bathroom or anything other than toilet and tub. Will have to set your clothes on the bathroom floor when you shower. For what we paid... literally the worst hotel I have stayed at.
