Still an excellent value, but a few (hopefully isolated) issues this time The Quality Suites has been my go-to hotel for staycations for over a decade, as evidenced by my many stays here. It is the nicest Quality-brand property in the area, and gives me the best value for my money. So, it was an obvious choice for a stay earlier this month. The hotel is still clean, comfortable, and friendly. However, I encountered a few issues during my one-night stay that hopefully aren't a sign of things to come. My suite was 102, with a king bed and pull-out sofa. The suite was basically clean. However, the first time I used the bathroom, the toilet made a loud, high-pitched sound upon flushing it. I went to the front desk to report it but happened to catch the maintenance man in the lobby and mentioned it directly to him. He followed me to the room and made some adjustments to the toilet. It seemed to work for a bit, but by the next morning the unsettling noise was back. I mentioned it upon check-out; hopefully they find a permanent fix for it. Minor issues included a stain on the sofa and a loose toilet paper holder - nothing too major. Otherwise, everything was clean and functional. Onto the internet. It's been hit or miss during my past stays here, but this time counts as a miss. Normally, the wi-fi here has a tendency to disconnect and require re-authentication after varying lengths of time, which I was prepared for. However, after the first disconnect, the splash screen to re-authenticate took several minutes to properly load. The second time, it never did. I had to ask the front desk for the IT support number. Tech support had to take my computer IP address to manually bypass the authentication system, and I was able to get back online without further issues after that. Finally, at breakfast, the juice machine was out of order. The rest of breakfast was fine, although there was no bacon and the home fries were replaced with tater tots. Still, it's better than you'll get at many places. Staff was friendly. Still no business center, though. I like the semi-divided layout, wet bar, and two TV's in this hotel's suites, and everything was still clean. The toilet, wi-fi, and juice machine issues were a bit annoying to deal with, but not enough to dissuade me from staying here again. Things break and hotel wi-fi is usually hit-or-miss, so I'm willing to overlook some things - as long as they're corrected promptly.

Still good, but changes aren't always for the best. I've been loyal guest here for almost a decade and a half. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to give this hotel anything less than a 5/5 rating. But things are changing here. Ownership and management has changed, with a piece of green tape covering the old owner's name on the nameplate behind the front desk. And the changes were evident beyond that during this stay. I normally save breakfast for the end of my reviews, but let's talk about that now. I've noiced a steady removal of items from the breakfast buffet over the years. They used to offer both bacon and sausage every morning, along with home fries and cranberry juice. Then they started alternating between sausage and bacon. Then the bacon vanished altogether. Then the home fries were replaced by tater tots before they, too, vanished. The cranberry juice also disappeared from their offerings. In short, what used to be one of the best hotel breakfasts in the business is now nothing special. Oh yeah, they no longer let you take your breakfast back to your room, a hotel policy that never made sense to me - it's not like they can stop you from eating pizza or Doordash delivered meals in your room, so... The long-time employees that made this hotel special also have departed in recent years. Ms. Rhonda no longer works here, and she had been on staff for over a decade. I haven't seen Ms. Lilie for my past couple of stays (I did speak to her over the phone back in November about the safe charge.) The new staff is okay, no complaints, but I'm not getting the same welcoming vibe from the new staffers that I had with the old guard. My suite was 103, with two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. No complaints with the room outside of a closet door that wouldn't latch (this was mentioned to staff upon check-out.) It was clean and comfortable, and I've always liked the layout of the suites here. Typically this hotel's internet has been more troublesome than most, but I actually had no issues this time. I will say that last time I stayed, the wi-fi got so bad I actually had to call their tech support and have them bypass their authentication screen for me, so I'm suspecting their system still "remembers" those settings from last time and that's why I was able to get around the typical Choice Hotels wi-fi woes. The indoor pool was closed for the duration of my stay. For now, I'll continue to recommend this hotel as a clean, reasonably priced hotel option in the Charlotte area with the added value and amenities of their suites. And it's by far the best Quality brand location in the area. But sadly, it's no longer the special place that I wholeheartedly recommended in the past. It's not too late to change course, (the bones of the hotel, with their roomy and well equipped suites, are still a compelling reason to stay here) so I hope the new owners decide to reverse some of their recent cost-cutting decisions.

If you are in need....... expect to be kicked out even when you are paid in full! This hotel has the worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! Families beware, single parents traveling alone, anyone in need of understanding, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!! I am not the only traveler who was majorly disrespected, read all the reviews. My children and I became sick while traveling. I initially booked a one day stay online. Then booked an additional day online when I realized I was too sick to drive home. When housekeeping came to see what time, I was leaving. I informed them I booked an extra day. 10 mins later the desk clerk Lillie called and told me I had to come downstairs to check out then check back in. I told her I was feeling too sick and TRIED to give her my confirmation number because I PAID IN FULL online. She said that was not policy and I had to check out to be checked in. I told her my CHILDREN and I are sick, and she will have to give me some time. The room was paid for, and the hotel had all my information from the previous day’s check in. I told her I was definitely not trying to run out. She said I had 5 minutes to get downstairs. I asked to speak to the manager. She became irate. Her last words to me were, "you must think I am playing.' Lillie called the police to have my children and I removed.... no THROWN OUT!!!! ON THANKSGIVING!!! One of the children was a sick infant!! WE were all lying in bed and 3 North Carolina police officers came in to remove a sick mother and children from a room that was PAID for. BECAUSE I COULDN'T COME DOWNSTAIRS FAST ENOUGH. ON TOP OF THAT the hotel kept the money for my extended stay. The reason.....I refused to follow the hotel policy of checking out to be checked back in! AND LILLIE GAVE THE POLICE ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION BECAUSE IF I EVER RETURN I COULD BE ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING. If this is a reflection of North Carolina’s hospitality, you do not have to worry about me returning. The hotel stole my payment and criminalized a traveler for needing extra consideration. I still have not been able to get my refund, I am sure my name is still in their system as a criminal, and I have yet to get management or an owner. FAMILIES BEWARE!!!

Best & worst stay, but will be back. This review is 2 fold, and here'swhy. The entire room was large, nice & clean. However, on the 2nd floor room 229 at 0130 after driving from Orlando & day tripping in Atlanta, you could barely get any sleep due to the paper thin walls and floors. Loud thuds, and banging of heavy stomping feet running back & forth for over an hour... then to be woken by a cellphone vibrating alarm ( or something). After 30 mins of the vibration ( yes im aware there could be other vibrating items packed) it finally stopped. We checked everyphone, bag, desk, under beds & everywhere we could think of besides cutting a hole into the wall voids. Thank goodness it stopped.. i can only assume it was the phone of the neighbor that was penatrating the wall. Well, given this alarm, I awoke before my family and went down for the standard cont. breakfast, w/posted hrs of 0630, yet at 0530 i was wandering the halls. "Elsa"-Much To my surprise I had an entirely hot & fresh B-Fast waiting for me, which not only included some of the best hospitality & cleanliness that ive experienced in a very long time, but also amazing conversation** Thank You Elsa**. I can't rave enough about the experience, customer service and over all above & beyond meal. Not only will I be back, but I'll make sure to spread the positive review to anyone with ears. Choice COO -->If you don't appreciate ELSA, trust me...your competitors will.

Okay for the price. Chose this for location on our travel route, price and other positive reviews that I read. The man at desk was friendly and helpful. Smelled pot in elevator. The first room we were given, the toilet water would not go down, (with nothing in the toilet.) Also, the security latch on door was broken. The second room had an inoperable refrigerator ,(I checked that it was plugged in and that the thermostat inside was turned up.) Also, a screw was missing from security latch on door. Maintenance? We went to Applebees and left because of long wait and it seemed to be under staffed. Went to Red Lobster and guy at bar ignored us, so we left. Also, this Pineville area has a "ghetto" kind of feel to it. Olive Garden was much better and our bar tender "Tellek" and other staff was great. "Quality" breakfast was mediocre with almost Dixie cup sized, weak coffee. (The lady working there was attentive though.)
