Book only as your last option Immediate impression upon pulling in - dilapidated building, fence around the building and boarded up restaurant immediately adjacent to the motel. Tons of litter and debris all around the hotel. The person who checked us in did not speak English very well. We tried to explain a situation and she did not even try to understand what we were saying and we had to tell her to stop yelling at us. She brought out another person and he immediately understood and took care of their mistake. It was clear that they are a couple and their kids were using the lobby as their playroom and they also lived in the back room. When we checked out early the next morning, we had to wait a long time to get buzzed into the lobby and she came out in her pajamas. The room was not the worst I have seen, but it was certainly not what I would consider clean. It was definitely an unpleasant experience and we ended up checking out a day early, with clearly no refund.

Don’t let the outside fool you Don’t let the outside fool you. The rooms were clean. Comfortable beds, updated bathroom with two sinks. Mini-fridge and microwave. Convenient location for Tanglewood. Cons: No lobby, coffee station or other amenities. The parking lot does not evoke a feeling of safety. However we did feel safe in our rooms.

A really bad experience What a dump, this accommodation lived up to the name of of the city it was the pits. We were totally ripped off, we prepaid through a travel agent for two rooms and they said they had not got our booking even though we had vouchers emailed through. The new owners then offered us a double room for what he said was a discounted price of 139 dollars when considering the state of the place 5 dollars would have been too much. Please don't go, also we think our credit card details were copied and used. A really bad experience on what was a great trip round New England

How Do You Grade This Place? We were looking for an inexpensive overnight on our drive south from a vacation in New Hampshire and thought the Econo Lodge might work after seeing all the inflated prices at all the surrounding motels. It looks like it used to be the Fairborn Inn from an old banner still hanging from the front of the building, so why wouldn't you take than down? Well, the outside merits a 1/terrible rating with ratty landscaping and fences knocked down around the property that haven't been painted since the building went up. There was junk sitting around the place with what looked like a few long term residents in the motel. Inside the room rates a 2.75/ not quite average though it seemed OK for a night. Everything worked but needed some TLC. The area is surrounded by restaurants, traffic and shopping centers but seemed tucked back just enough that I carefully watched my surroundings, but we had no problems. The rundown closed restaurant next to it didn't help. An Indian family must be the owners, since the lobby looked a little like their home but the front desk interaction went fine and they were friendly. The sign said no longer serving breakfast due to Covid but that is BS, just saving money. There is a Wendy's 1/2 mile down the street for a great breakfast. Choice Hotels needs to bring in a consultant and state that certain things need to be done to even keep the budget Econo Lodge banner. I would not stay here again even though it was the only motel under $100 in a 20 mile radius of Stockbridge. Was I generous with the final 2/ poor rating, maybe? Interesting that they had a very nice garden growing in the parking lot.

Liars and Aggressive The owners are aggressive and threatened my boyfriend. They lie on their site—a “double room” is not 2 double beds but rather one queen bed. The owners lied on the phone when we called to ask. Then, when we got there they tried to charge us double for the room we needed for our family. They have their kids toys and shoes in the lobby as though they live in the lobby. They said they’d refund our monkey but never did. They refused to speak with the corporate office when they tried to step in.
