Excellent Customer Service Great hotel and staff! Donna McKain, Director of Sales, was wonderful to work with, a true hospitality professional. I had a large corporate group coming into town that needed overnight accommodations for the week and she helped me every step of the way. Always answered the phone and responded to emails in a timely manner. We had lots of last minute changes and she handled all the details for us- with a smile! Staff distributed welcome gifts at check-in and even coordinated shuttle service for our group. This is a safe area, clean hotel and my group enjoyed their stay. I work with hotels all across the U.S. and their customer service sets them apart and they deserve recognition. Highly recommend this hotel.

A comfortable option The Hilton Garden Inn in Plymouth, Michigan, offers a pleasant and comfortable stay. Our room was clean and spacious. The common areas seem like they have been refreshed recently but the room decor is a bit dated. The location is ideal, close to local shops and restaurants in old Plymouth town which is beautiful. While not luxurious, this hotel is a reliable and comfortable option, providing good value for the price.

Renovate this place ASAP! THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO BE TOTALLY GUTTED & RENOVATED! - No hot water Saturday night & Sunday - Evacuated very early one morning due to multiple fire alarms for no reason - Carpets & wallpaper in rooms & hallways are badly worn. - And more problems, but to just summarize: We’ve stayed there many times for 20 years, but past 2 years have been bad. Previous 18 years were good. SO DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE HIGH OVERALL RATING ON TRIPADVISOR, BASED MOSTLY ON REVIEWS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN UNTIL IT IS FULLY RENOVATED OR REBUILT!

Decent but 'tired' rooms. Great staff! Avoid the breakfast buffet. The staff at the Plymouth HGI are quite wonderful (with one exception that I’ll get to later); the front-desk, housekeeping, and wait staff are warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. Great people. The rooms are fine though they are showing their age; the facility needs some attention and upgrades. No surprises or disappointments, though, and the bed was comfortable. The rates are fair for the area and the condition of the hotel. One bit of advice: be wary of the breakfast buffet. During our stay, the scrambled eggs were undercooked (quite runny), the potatoes were charred and hard, and the bacon was burnt to crisp (broken shards of bacon). The selection of other foods was limited: only one type of melon, no berries; one flavor of yogurt; no non-meat sausage option; and only one strength (weak) of coffee. If you do want to eat there, you should consider ordering from the menu. As for my one staff issue. As I was scooping a healthy portion of eggs - hey, I’m a big guy! - the cook, standing near the table, said “Oh, THAT’s why we are always running out. People take too much.” When I shot her a bit of side eye, she said “Oh, I didn’t mean you!” Right. (I need to note that when I shared my reaction to the food and the cook’s comments with the management staff, they took the meal charge off of my bill. A gracious and appropriate gesture.) DO stop by the bar in the evening for a drink. Wonderful bartender. And be nice to the front-desk staff; they are working very hard to make your stay a good one!

Nice people, worn product I agree with many of the reviews that the staff is good, but the hotel itself is old and in major need of upgrade. Our room was worn, sheets were thin, toilet very loose from the floor and the faucet aerator sprayed water everywhere. Refrigerator was loud and kept us up the 1st night, I turned it off the 2nd night. Hallway smelled liked an old folks home the second you stepped off the elevator. All in all, too many other newer & fresher hotels, so probably would not return.
