There were no homeless tents to worry about and... ...the place was clean. All we needed was one night to catch a flight the next morning. This place fit that need well enough. I did like their white noise maker. It does help block out the take offs and landings from the nearby airport. Not really much to walk to restaurant-wise.

Poorly Serviced Marriott - far below expectations Extremely friendly front counter staff but oh, woo what a poorly serviced property lacking things you typically expect. Even Motel 6 has ice buckets. We are longtime Marriott BonVoy/Elite members with high status so perhaps our expectations are spoiled, but.... First thing to know is there are three Marriotts all together who share a parking lot - Courtyard, Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn. You can find the price lower on Hotels.com, etc but we want the points so booked with Bonvoy. If it is available pick the Courtyard. Newer property (white painted feels like a beach setting) , sits on the river with a beautiful outdoor space for snack bar or light meal and great service -especially Sam in the bar. (We don't drink but perfect service). The Fairfield Inn, where we stayed, sits behind next to the freeway. They upgraded us to a suite but the window view was a freeway on board ramp. ASK TO SEE THE ROOM. There was no plastic cups nor ice bucket. No conditioner (they left two body lotions). Front desk said sorry "we ran out." How can you run out of a plastic ice bucket? Also no laundry bag. It was like nobody had serviced this unit (but they had because the lemon flavored toiletries were there.) Just nobody bothered to quick- quality control? In fairness once we alerted the desk and convinced them there "must be a plastic ice bucket somewhere" they apparently went next door and retired one. Lobby of the Fairfield is nice and quiet. I wouldn't stay here again but would book the Courtyard Across the lot.

Horrible Rude staff, inattentive front desk person, requests for extra towels were completely ignored, no Gold member upgrades or mentions. No coffee, no breakfast, no pool or hot tub. Road noise was insane even with the white noise machine all the way up. No TV channels unless you sign into your own Netflix account which tada, you already pay for... Parking is $10 per day per vehicle. Front doors are constantly locked, not just at night and my key didn't work to let me in so I had to wait and knock on the glass and wait some more for the front desk person to come out from whatever they were doing in the back to let me in. They were constantly in the back room unless they were socializing with the lobby attendant. Completely unprofessional and by far the most disappointing Marriott experience I've ever had hands down. Will not be staying here again.

If you want an average place to stay that’s not in the city, this is an okay choice Spent 1 night here (March 7, 2020). Nothing eventful about my stay. Beds were comfortable, shower was nice and warm with great water pressure. You *do* hear the flight activity from PDX at night but they seemed to have stopped past 11 or so. Only complaint is that they knew I had 4 people staying in my room but didn’t provide enough toiletries or towels upon my arrival. They also still run on single-use bottles (I prefer what “Four Points” hotels do with their dispensers). I would also loved to have been provided mouthwash, but I’m being picky now :). I’m a Marriott Bonvoy silver elite member.

Worst Ever We travel quite often for business and this location will be deleted. To start with you pull into the parking lot and there is a homeless camp adjoining it. Literally 2 parking spots from our car. Our room had a view of it also. When asked how safe to walk around the gal said just stay in the parking lots and don't walk around at night and its fine??! We saw arguments on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Not a good location. Rooms were very cramped and 2 people could not walk by each other without one person sitting on the bed. Poorly designed. We have stayed at other Fairfields and were totally pleased. Breakfast buffet...well I will add photos...says it all. There was a BB tournament in town. Pretty sad to drive by all the trash and broke down motorhomes leaving the area with the kids.Definetely didn't feel comfortable letting any of the kids walk around. I understand the location is what it is but this hotel was very poor in quality, says its newly renovated...ummm not! Our refrigerator was so frosted over you couldn't put food in freezer or on top shelf and it was an old very mini fridge. The maintenance guy Gretsky( very nice and accomadating!!)came in to switch it out but was going to try and just chip some of the ice away until he realized that was impossible. Probably something that should be looked at by housekeeping. He brought us a different fridge and was very apologetic. Gretsky..thank you! Do not stay here if looking for a kid friendly area.Only a couple food places close enough to walk to but we were approached by aggressive panhandlers on the way. Having to return back to that location 2 days after checking out (already booked thru work) I was really hating the thought. Thankfully when my husbands corporate business card wouldn't swipe because the stripe was getting worn, instead of punching in his number manually the front desk gal Maria said we could use a different card, Not for company travel! We had to go to another location to stay!!Thankfully!! They manually could and did do it. Marie was not trying to accomadate a Rewards member and the corporation he is employed by is a very large well known one. That was fine I was happy to go to the Residence Inn. Clean friendly and accomadating.
