Watch for fraudulent charges and stay elsewhere. I recently stayed at Hotel Eastlund, and while the cleanliness and quietness of the room were commendable, my experience was overshadowed by poor customer service and questionable billing practices. After checking out, I noticed an arbitrary charge of $96 on my account. When I reached out for clarification, I was given the runaround. I first spoke to Amanda, who directed me to Mathew, stating he was the one to speak to about fraudulent charges and to call the following day. However, when I called back, I was informed Mathew doesn’t work on Fridays and that I would need to wait until Sunday. I left a message for Mathew to contact me on Sunday at noon. Instead, I received a call at 10:30 am, where Mathew informed me that he would need to consult with the manager and would get back to me by 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Despite his assurance, I never received the promised follow-up call. I am now stuck paying for this unexplained charge, and the lack of communication and accountability is deeply frustrating. If you’re considering staying here, I’d recommend taking your business across the street to the Marriott, where they not only offer a full bar, activities center, and parking but are also less likely to charge you arbitrarily. I won’t be returning to Hotel Eastlund and would caution others to be wary of potential billing issues.

Hotel Eastlund: The Good, Bad and Ugly The Good, Bad and Ugly The Good: Overall the Hotel in Good shape. Valet parking was exceptional. The best part of this hotel. Everyone I interacted with for Valet were exceptional, friendly and provided outstanding assistance. Things change when you go inside. Staff inside the hotel were like the living dead. Polite but not pleasant. Definitely a job for them and not a career. Generally not a smile. All rushed busy with management doing what looked like really nothing. The coffee bar downstairs was exceptional with a decent egg sandwich and a smile there. With the restaurant opening so late at 9:30am, it is a good place to wake up in. The bar area was good but with the Bartender also waiting tables service was slow. Drinks were very good. Appetizers were standard bar food but executed well. The Bad: I checked in late to find the restaurant had a limited menu until Happy hour, which was not full of great choices. It stands to reason with check in being at 4 pm, the on-site restaurant would have good food selections for early check in guests. What restaurant cannot do a simple BLT at 1:30 pm in the afternoon? I had breakfast/brunch there for one meal. Something called Trucker's Breakfast or Skillet. Overall a good dish but poorly executed. The breading on the chicken fried steak was over-salted, over medium egg over cooked, biscuits too dense or over baked. Gravy broken and separated. Good flavor just had to saw through the biscuits with a steak knife and no jammy egg yoke as expected for an over-medium egg. Over-Cooked food with bland bitter coffee and poor service. The Ugly: My room was dirty. The bathroom floor had not been mopped. The floor had either dirt of fecal matter around the toilet. I cleaned it with one of towels. The three days I was there never saw staff to swap towels or anything like that. The Hotel and generally the room was hot. I like to sleep cold. The thermostat was limited to above 65. The hotel staff recommended opening a window, which helped a bit but also brought in all the construction noise from the Denny's remodel across the street, Homeless people fighting at 3 am and any other annoying noises Portland downtown had to offer. With the window opened my room stayed a balmy 71/72 degrees. Too hot for me to enjoy my stay. On what planet does limiting the thermostat sound like a good idea? Unacceptable. Being an IT person, I was disappointed in the WiFi and overall cable. The bandwidth was not sufficient for any streaming and voices on cable did not synch. Like watching a bad foreign movie dubbed in English. Conclusion: Hotels have repeat customers due to attention to detail and focus on service. Other than the coffee bar and valet, this hotel has neither of those. People/Guests are generally at their happiest when they stay in hotels. They are on vacation or business and just want to unwind and relax or at least have a friendly smile. The entire time I was there, including checkout, not one person asked me if I enjoyed the service, my meals or my stay. Overall and F for customer service. I doubt I would stay there again. Very disappointing for the Best Western brand which I have always found delivered good service.

5☆ service from start to finish. The Hearts in the City Romance Package did not disappoint. Went here for Valentines with the Hearts in the City Romance Package. There really are no words to express how wonderful the whole experience was. From the valet parking to the easy, quick check-in- everyone was so friendly and eager to help. Walked into a beautiful suite, soft music was playing and rose petals scattered around. I loved the way the room was set-up, with sliding glass doors to close the room off from the front and the large shower with 2 shower heads and an extra big bathtub. The bed was amazing and besides a text or 2 checking to see if there was anything we needed, no one bothered us. It was exactly what we needed. Our relaxing getaway continued into the next afternoon with a 2pm check-out time that includes in the package. I would not have changed a thing. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a 5 ☆ hotel experience. ♡

A fantabulous stay under the worst of reasons Evan at the front desk was absolutely awesome. He seemed to know intuitively what you needed or answers to your questions. Jason at valet was on point every time we needed the car. Dinner and drinks on the roof top was amazing as well. The view from our room with spectacular!

Perfect New Year's Eve experience. It did exceed expectations and was better than the outside view would leave you to believe. No complaints at all. The staff, room, amenities, food, value was wonderful. It had a great view of Southwest Portland downtown. Nice urban view. Do Book it.
