Always enjoy my visits. Always a very pleasant short stay. The rooms are great for a budget hotel and the tv listings are great to choose from. The furniture is well kept and area is very quiet. The pool is very clean and gazebo is nice touch for eating crabs. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

“Breakfast” was only milk and cereal The pool was closed but the room was very clean. The flooring was in need of replacement because the laminate flooring was warped and separated. I could not get the front desk gentleman to smile, but the lady who was cleaning was friendly. Know that “breakfast” means terrible coffee, cereal, and milk. Plan to grab food somewhere else.

Owner/Operator opens locked door on checkout morning A group of friends have stayed at the Econo many times over 5 years. The rooms were remodeled but they are not fully cleaned. The screen on the window was hanging off, There is brown water in the toilet and coming from the shower at first turn on, There are no irons /ironing boards in the rooms.. The shower did not have a shower curtain. For every item wrong/incomplete, we walked to the office to ask the owner/operator. The whole building needs TLC. But my major concern with this establishment is the owner/operator’s disregard for privacy. At 9:15 am on checkout day, the owner opens our door. Bang and our door opens… The chain blocked the door from fully opening. He runs off mumbling something about checkout….. Again is was 9:15 am with a checkout time of 11:00am. About 20 mins later a women ( probably a relative of the owner/operator) knocks on the door. She again mentions the check out time: The area deserves better hotels.

My experience not as terrible as others’ but not great, either Yes, a tired old hotel showing its age, but not the horror show you’d think it is based on other reviews here. Second-floor room was generally clean, bed was comfortable, A/C worked, and the shower was hot—checked all my boxes for minimum requirements. But the “nonsmoking” room did have a smoky, unpleasant odor. The water in the sink and toilet was discolored, and the sink drained slowly. There was no shampoo in the bathroom (just a couple bars of soap and lotion). When I called to request a bottle, they asked me to come to the office to retrieve it (any responsible staff would have brought it to my room). Left before they put out breakfast, so can’t comment on that. One night was $96, which was well below anything else available in town (multiple events over this weekend and most hotels booked solid; any rooms that did become available were $300+ a night). So, yeah, not a four-star experience, but (mostly) got what I paid for.
