Posto Felice! We booked The Hotel Dolce Villa last minute and it was the best impulse decision. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the popular  Federal Hill(Little Italy) area, We were warmly greeted by the host. He was flexible, informative, and quick to accommodate any requests. We stayed in the "1 Bedroom Private Studio W/ Micro Kitchen" The room was immaculate and fully stocked with cooking essentials. The bed made for a good night's sleep. Though we didn't have a view, we could hear the rhythmic sounds of Latin & Italian music. The decor is a lovely tribute to the iconic and legendary beautiful Sophia Loren. Will definitely book The Hotel Dolce Villa again. PRIME LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL/ CLEAN ACCOMMODATIONS,  AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE,  & AFFORDABLE RATES!

AVOID THIS HOTEL. BE CAREFUL. STEAL YOUR MONEY. NO COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AVOID THIS HOTEL. Please read this review before you decide to book with them. I booked 2 nights in the Hotel Dolce Villa during the labor weekend. My first impression was horrible. The front desk is a small room with a desk with tons of newspapers all over the room. I arrived around 1 pm and the hotel was closed. I had to call them and the “receptionist” was attending the bar next to the hotel. I’m guessing she is a waitress and receptionist at the same time. During the check in I asked for the free breakfast mentioned on their website. She told me that there is not more free breakfast. I insisted that if the website says free breakfast included with the booking of any room they should give me the mentioned offer because it is still on the website. After fighting for my rights she finally gave me the free breakfast. The “breakfast” is not a “breakfast” because the sister restaurant opens at 12 pm. The following day after we were outside the whole day when we returned to the hotel around 10 pm for our surprise the room was not cleaned, the garbage was still there, the towels were not changed, the bed was not made and the coffee machine was not cleaned. Everything was left the same way when I left the hotel in the morning. I informed the situation at the front desk and a guy named Joshua not only did not apologize or send some staff to clean my room but also laughed at me when I requested to talk to the manager or to get a discount for the money paid since nowhere or at any time were informed that the room would not be cleaned. Even worse he told me that due to the COVID they didn't clean the rooms every day, only the day of your check in and the day of your check out. For my surprise for the statement he made the next day during the check out informed the situation to the lady at the front desk named Marilyn and again in a very bad way laughing at me she insisted that nobody will give me my money back or any discount since rooms are clean the day of the check in and the day of your check out because of the pandemic that we are dealing with. So, if you stay 5 or 7 days in this “hotel” your room won’t be clean because of the Covid but nobody will tell you when you register or even it is not mentioned on their website. So, be careful if you book this hotel because they don’t comply with the protocols established for hotels during the Covid-19. You will not see either hand sanitizer anywhere or at the front desk. They are liars and they will take your money without giving you the service for which you have paid. This hotel is not 3.4 stars is less than 1 star.

Great Location - Terrible Hotel and Staff Historic Federal Hill in Providence is an amazing location. Some of the best restaurants in a small group I've ever seen. Nestled right in the middle of this excellent neighborhood is a very cool looking hotel - Hotel Dolce Villa. Unfortunately, that is where the greatness of this hotel ends. Upon check in, we encountered the rudest night clerk I have ever meet in my life. Refusing to acknowledge anyone or anything (because we were apparently interrupting his game of Fortnite that he was proudly playing), he finally collects the little dog that is running around the entrance (this hotel has a no pets policy, btw), and proceeds to barely speak above the sound of a whisper. As we go through the check-in process, someone else attempts to enter to check in, and as he just stares at them through the insanely dark plexiglass surrounding their check in desk, they finally get the hint that he won't be getting up or acknowledging them and they just walk away. On finally making our way to our room, we see a room that is small (which we expected), and seemingly clean until you actually look at things. The bed, an old worn down memory foam mattress, had to be fixed as the box spring was in the frame incorrectly. Once we did that, we realized that the frame was scraping along the tile floor, which was insanely loud. The bathroom door wouldn't close without the strength of an ox to lift the door and latch. At night, the sound of a thousand restaurant goers and the music from the surrounding restaurants could be heard clearly until almost 2am. Oh, and did I mentioned the comforter with no less than 40 cigarette burns and random tears? Or the stained bedsheets? Now, the positives: - The morning front desk staff was wonderful and smiling and remarkably helpful. - The towels were clean-ish? That's it. Really. Those are the only positives. - Thinking about going to this hotel to take advantage of the complementary breakfast offered by the attached restaurant? Think again! They aren't associated with the restaurants anymore, nor do the promised 20% coupons apply anywhere. - Needing to park? They offer parking...in a completely unsecured lot four blocks away for an additional $20 a night. - Need the occasional wifi? I'm glad you only need it occasionally because that's about as much as it works. - Expecting answers to questions or any help outside of someone to look at you, angry because you dare to interrupt another session of Fortnite? This is not the hotel for you. Due to work, I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels and I can truly say that this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Looking at other reviews, many places mention the incredibly rude night clerk and the outright lies and poor customer service that this place offers. Every one of them are accurate. Spend the extra $30 a night and stay at any other hotel in the surrounding two miles of hotels. I'm pretty sure they have storage closets and broomsticks that would offer a better hotel experience than Hotel Miserabile Villa offers. PS - seriously, the morning staff was very sweet. They were simply not an accurate representation of this hotel.

rude desk clerk the entry to the tiny-prison-like set up was filthy and plastered with COVIC signs, more like a dingy public office. the clerk let me in saying nothing. could not have been more rude. he was on a call and I waited five minutes without any polite concern... nothing like "I'll be with you", just ignored me. He hung up, never looked up and barked "last name". then asks for my card and drivers licence, copying both on the zerox. Had me sign a long list off rules barking orders about "NO visitors". I explained I was alone, and he harshly repeated the lecture. They must have had lots of problems in the past. He tells me not to lose the key to the lobby because if I get locked out, I won't be able to get back in until the next day. I ask for a copy of the "rules" I signed, he answered nothing giving me a copy of the bill. I said I had a right to a copy of the agreement, he said "I will cancel your reservation and you can leave". He refused to give me the copy of my drivers licence and credit card, thus keeping my private information. I lost my temper and shot a video of his refusal to give my the copy of my license. I hope all the staff isn't like this one. He was something you would expect at traffic court, rude, arrogant... and remember, you pay for the honor to be treated this way. I can't say anything about the room as I never saw it. But if all the staff is like this, and this is any indication of the property, it is seriously bad.

Filthy, Disgusting, Unsafe I booked two nights over the Columbus Day Weekend. Big mistake. Parking is non-existent. There is only a small alley behind the hotel near a dumpster. Street parking is impossible and break ins occur - no secured parking but you still pay $20 per night to park. The weather was very bad, so to drag luggage from the alley to the front door was a struggle. There is no elevator and no accommodation for disabilities of any kind. Check in cluttered and dirty with cat dishes in view. Carpets filthy, room stark and cold. I ended up leaving as I couldn't even sleep there and booked at another nearby hotel. No refunds whatsoever. Don't even think about staying here.
