Can’t wait to come back We absolutely loved this resort. We were a little hesitant due to some of the poor reviews in the past few months, but we found everything to be top notch. We had an ocean front suite and it didn’t disappoint. The views were great and we could hear the ocean waves all night. The pool area was nice with plenty of room and never an issue getting chairs in good spots. Armando the waiter at the pool was great and we found the drinks and food prices to be fair. We had great service at the breakfast restaurant each morning with Roberto as our waiter. We went into PV a few times and the Uber rides were very cheap (under $6-8 each way). I can’t wait to come back and this will probably be a place we visit every year. One downside (and this doesn’t take away from my ratings) is the door to the room doesn’t block out sound very well. So bring ear plugs. There was a loud bird chirping all night long outside our room and we could hear the housekeeping staff loud and clear when they started their shift each morning. By the second night I finally just put earplugs in and the noise didn’t bother me.

First time in Puerto Valllerto AND We Loved the Marriott! We recently returned from our seven day, six night stay at the Marriott Puerta Valllerto. Upon arrival, we were thrilled. The hotel is beautiful! We have no complaints nor have any issues to report. Compliments to: Viviana - The hardest working Marriott Concierge team member. She was so sweet, knowledgable and attentive. She scheduled our onsite COVID test and other activities. Ernesto - Always asking, "How can I help you? Having a good time?" His personality is contagious and his professionalism is exceptional. Carlos - The MVP (most valuable person) of this entire resort. His customer service is TOP class and he's extremely thoughtful and kind. He assisted me with my restuarant bill and as promised, ensured the credit was processed to my account. Reports: 1. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The serving staff is attentive and courteous. Kudos to the waffle/pancake cook, she's amazing. 2. Room service food was prompt and tasty. The brownie with ice cream is a must have late night dessert. 3. The pool was great. It's large enough that you have space to swim. The area near the water bar is very popular. A. We rented a bali bed for $60 usd. It was worth it. The king size bed was clean and comfortable. The view is unforgettable. B. Pool service is prompt and courteous. Note: the drinks could stand for more liquor. C. The beach area is nice and umbrellas are available. The ocean water is murky. Note: after reading the warning signs about the animals and sea life that live in the ocean water, we DID NOT go in. I repeat, we did not go in. We were told by other hotel guests that crocodiles were sighted. 4. Las Casitas, Mikado and Champion Restaurant - great places to eat and service was good. Except our waiter at Las Casitas was waiting several tables and got backed up. Note: There are stray cats that will show up at Las Casitas from the neighboring condos. That was annoying as I don't like cats! They don't bother you and thank God they didn't jump up on our table. 5. Fitness center - Top notch. Although we had intented to use, didn't get around to it. They have the latest equipment and its fully air conditioned. 6. Spa - One of the best experiences at the resort. I used the wellness center which is part of the spa and I was amazed at the FREE options: Foot bath Jacuzzi Cold plunge Hot plunge Swiss Shower Steam room Dry sauna room Pressure Shower Insanely relaxing!!! A must do!!! 7. Location - conveniently located near the airport (80 pesos one way), shopping district (150 pesos one way) and downtown (140-150 pesos one way). The hotel bellmen are FIVE Star! You tell them where you want to go and they will get a taxi for you. Although most of the reviews on this website are very positive, there are some negative ones. I wanted to write my review for transparency and validation based on our visit. Given our experience, we will return to this hotel and resort again!

Thank you! I spent a couple of nights to rest, relax and be spoiled by the Marriott staff after adventuring in various seaside towns outside of PV. The staff were very welcoming and I was spoiled rotten. I started to walk on the beach to take pictures of the ultra fabulous sunset. While it wasn’t dark yet, one of the staff warned me that there may be crocodiles that may surface hence I kept a bit off the water. I also took notice of the signs posted all over prior to walking on the beach. Marriott staff has always gone out of their way to warn guests and I am glad that girl is ok but my observation of tourists in various resorts all over the world, they continue to heed the warnings. I do recommend this hotel but just like anything, listen to staff, practice safety and use common sense.

Bedbugs and poor service This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this resort in the past 2 years. The first time we had a wonderful time. This time, service was not as good probably because the hotel was understaffed due to COVID. Service at the Ceviche bar was particularly slow, and room service took 90 minutes to deliver chicken tenders. During our stay my wife started noticing itchy bumps on the back of her legs and torso. They have continued to appear a couple days after our trip and are consistent with bed bug bites, which has also led to a skin rash. I called the hotel to report the issue and provided the room number. I was told that they would call a technician and that was that. I am disappointed that I have spent 58 nights at Marriott hotels and I was not offered any sort of compensation for this unpleasant stay. We spent 5 nights and had friends staying in a different room that also noticed little red bumps as well. Between the 2 hotel rooms and incidentals, we spent over $2000 on this trip and the facility did not meet the standards for cleanliness and infestations. Will not be coming back a third time.

Fantastic 6-Night Stay! Just got back from a 6-night stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, and my only regret is not staying for longer! Located in the quieter Marina area, this resort is only 10 minutes (or less) from the airport. If you want large crowds, noise and a more chaotic feel--stay closer to the Hotel Zone/Malecon. If you want a perfect balance of activity and relaxation--the Marriott is for you! Staff were all great. However, Carlos at the pool/beach is hands-down the best!!! He single-handedly made our trip even more memorable with his positive vibe and flawless customer service. We would highly consider coming back to this resort just for Carlos--yes, he's THAT good! Food/Drink prices were very reasonable. We did not do the all-inclusive option but were very pleased with the variety of on-site dining/drinking options. There are many great bar/restaurants at the the Marina, which was only a short 5 minute walk. Transportation to/from the Zona Romantica and Malecon was super easy--even late at night. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean, which was perfect. Weather was hot/humid, so the powerful AC was nice! Hotel grounds were kept clean and tidy at all times and always felt safe. I had no problem locating, reading and comprehending the safety signage warning patrons about crocodiles. Pool/Beach scene was a perfect blend of activity and chill vibe. It was never too slow or too busy. Anyone complaining about not being able to find chairs/umbrellas should consider waking up before noon.
