Good place to stay in North Raleigh Great staff and all helpful folks. The problems were solved quickly. Breakfast was excellent. They are going into renovation time soon and will be updated quite a bit. The rooms are a bit worn but clean and up to standard. I was most impressed by how the staff was always willing to help in a friendly way. Made us feel like we had been there many times but this was our first trip. This hotel is close to Downtown and the Convention Center. Looking forward to another stay with them.

I do not recommend this hotel On the plus side, I would say that the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The bedspread had stains on it. The AC unit was very noisy so it was hard to sleep. The pool was closed and there was no indication about that on the website when we booked the hotel. The breakfast had oatmeal. Everything else was loaded with sugar. There was no caffeine free tea. No dairy free milk. There was no maple syrup for the waffles (which I would have used). I am on a caffeine free, dairy-free, refined-sugar-free diet— In other words, I tend towards Whole foods close to their natural state. So I had oatmeal plain. I had heard that Hilton bought Hampton Inn. They are not doing well by the brand. Overall, the hotel had a feel of being run-down with good maid service and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming – obviously hard-working.

Horrible experience. Uncomfortable. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere better for a few extra $$ because this is a wear your flip flops in the shower type of place. Also- yes I understand the pool is closed for maintenance BUT The pool area is the only area to sit outside that's not a parking lot.. as adults who are staying here, We should still have access to somewhere comfortable outside with chairs and not spend our time in our rooms with the dirtiest/most stained carpeting I've seen In a long time. I am extremely disappointed, I did not pick this hotel and tried to stay open minded but after a 10-hour drive I check in with my mom and notice that the mirrors are drippy and dirty, there was hair on my sheets and the tub wouldn't drain, So now we went from two beds to having to share one bed because that was the only thing available and I refused to shower in dirty water. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted. Thank you Hampton Inn Raleigh- Capital BLVD. North for making this extremely uncomfortable for us.

Handicapped Accesible Room Safety Issues Room 125 in this hotel has handicapped rails coming off the walls and the bolts holding the shower seat into the wall are coming out. Not only is this room not up to Hampton/Hilton quality standards, it is dangerous to guests who depend on the facilities being offered.

Worst experience I've ever had Wow do I wish I'd read the reviews before booking this hotel again. I suspect someone at the hotel is creating "excellent" reviews to offset all the terrible ones. More than half are average or below yet the rating is "very good"? It's anything but. I have been an Honor's member for years and thus stayed exclusively at Hiltons. My son lives in Raleigh - have stayed at this hotel multiple times. Yes its aging, but we're only in it to sleep, shower and spend the day with son and family. This time, I noticed when we got in a steady stream of water coming from the bath faucet. My 82-year-old mother doesn't hear well, and I slept in the bed furthest from the bathroom, so I ignored it since neither of us could hear it from our beds. Next morning we find the shower doesn't work. This site apparently doesn't allow video or I would upload the one I took showing every on/off attempt at multiple settings. My mother has had hip and knee replacements - no way she can get down in a tub for a bath. Showers aren't fixed easily or quickly so I know we're going to have to shift somewhere else which is going to put us behind schedule. I go to call the front desk... and the phone doesn't work. I unplug it, plug it back in... nothing. Having to step over the large puddle inside the elevator, I take it downstairs in my pajamas to the front desk, start looking for someone because no one is there. Then this guy comes out pointing at the phone asking why its there. I told him it isn't working and he starts in - you need to take this phone back. You can't just come down here and leave the phone.... I interrupt to let him know the REASON I was trying to use the phone in the first place is because the shower doesn't work. One thing at a time, he says. You need to take the phone back. How about we start with the shower instead, I ask. He says he's not the maintenance person and I need to learn how to handle things properly. Excuse me? I suggest he needs to learn when a customer is upset the last thing you do is talk down to them. He counters with, 'Oh I'm not talking down to you but you need to learn there's a right way to handle things. You can't just come down here and leave the phone..., blah blah blah. Meanwhile I am looking at my cell, on Hilton's site, trying to find a number I can call to get some help. He asks if I'm even listening to him. I replied that yes, I heard every word he said. Well then, he replies, you need to acknowledge me. I walked away at that point. So here's your acknowledgement.... Complaint lodged through Hilton's main customer service where I also asked to be transferred to another hotel pronto. There are plenty in the area. But because we were in the middle of a two night stay, they said I needed to speak with the manager when they came on duty - my reservation was nonrefundable and they couldn't cancel it on their end. In utter frustration I called the Marriott Fairfield Inn up the street. They invited us to come on over. We packed up, carefully navigated my mother over the puddle still in the elevator, went up the street, was checked in to a room at 8 a.m. with apologies for the horrendous experience we'd just been through, asked us to please settle in, get our showers, have some breakfast. I called Hampton Inn about 9:30 to speak to the manager. Was told there is no manager on Sundays, and the maintenance person still wasn't there. The lady I spoke with was at least helpful in "cancelling me out of the system". I'm monitoring my credit card to see if they're going to charge me both nights anyway. Yesterday was a travel day so I'll be calling Hilton main line again as they asked for a follow up on whether or not I would be charged. Thank God my mother wasn't having a medical issue I needed to call an ambulance for. I'd have had to leave her to run down to the front desk and let them know. or try to find the number on my phone in a panic. Mr. I Demand Acknowledgement never even asked what room I was in - he was too busy trying to school me in correct ways to handle things. Oh the irony, coming from someone who is supposed to be trained in customer service. Yes I've had good experiences with other Hilton properties, and even this one was okay in the past, but with this guy as the representation of Hilton's current customer service training - I'm done with Hilton. Canceling my Honor's membership. You can have my accumulated points. They are not worth the risk of being treated like this again. PS - Fairfield Inn up the street was maybe $15 or $20 more. Besides exemplary customer service, the room and amenities are a thousand times better. Go there, unless you like paying for sub-par facilities and being berated by the staff.
