Poor Paid for two nights upfront, they gave our room away after the first night, luckily the people did not want a dirty room with someone else’s luggage still there. Got back after a day in the Badlands and could not get into our room. Luckily, our stuff was OK. Breakfast was a joke, dry cereal or a waffle with no butter. Heater/Air was obnoxiously loud, but needed the fresh air & heat. Trash piled up in the hallways! Cheap price, but sometimes you do not even get what you pay for :(

Stay away This hotel should be closed. It is a fleabag hotel. Was it clean falling apart. Making a reservation was absolutely disgusting. I was transferred to someone who doesn’t know how to speak. English had to sign me up for the rewards program. Go through all those garbage I saved four dollars Lady at the front desk was kind no problems there. Paul was really cool with a slide, but that’s whatever. The whole place looks like it’s about ready to be shut down. I will not stay here again.

Bed bugs! Had the misfortune of staying at the Econo Lodge Black Hills for a couple nights in early November. I picked one of the cheapest rooms in the area, and the old saying is true - you get what you pay for! My room had bed bugs! I was laying on the bed for a while. I then noticed one little bug running around on the sheet, then two, then three. Upon closer examination, there were dozens of them - yuck! I travel a lot and had never encountered bed bugs before. I actually had to Google what they looked like. Luckily I had not slept overnight on the bed yet, but had lied down long enough to get some bites (didn’t even feel the bites). I immediately took a hot shower, packed up and left the room. Upon reporting this to the front desk, they offered to refund my money if I wanted to leave. It was late and I just switched rooms to another wing of the hotel. You can be sure I checked that room that it didn’t have bed bugs. The front desk clerk was apologetic about the situation, but the Hotel Manager was not (she was standing there when I reported it, but I did not know she was the Hotel Manager at the time). I know these things happen. I called her two times after I checked out, but she never returned my calls. That is not good customer service. Be careful about this hotel.

insufficient amenities I picked this hotel because it had a hot tub, but the hot tub was not functional. i was there three days, never got to hot tub -- the hot tub was cold. second day i went to breakfast during breakfast hours and it was all gone, no breakfast for me. the rooms were ok, but no amenities is a deal breaker. I'd been here before five years ago and it was fine, but it's really gone downhill. i won't come again

Rapid City Econo Lodge Disapointment The hotel looks fairly reasonable from the outside, can't say the same for the inside which was disappointing. The reception looked alright, and the staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. It had an elevator which is a bonus. My room was not exactly clean but the bed appeared to be. The furniture was dated and in disrepair or broken. The bathroom door had been smashed in, a while ago and was barely hanging on with no evidence of repair attempted. No Daily Servicing done or offered. The hotel had a indoor pool with a waterslide. There was a continental breakfast. There were a couple of restaurants/bars nearby and couple that had closed down permanently giving the impression that the hotel wasn't in a great area. The cost for a stay there was fairly reasonable.
