Clarion Hotel Detroit Metro Airport

Will clamp your car even when you pay for parking! The shuttle driver stayed on her phone while I struggled to get up and into the shuttle with a cane and luggage. I paid for 8 nights parking if my Subaru Outback and then my flight was delayed by a day, so I called the front desk and paid for two extra days. I came back one day later to my car with a boot clamp in the wheel. I was very upset and the front desk clerk said the tow company has no way to know that I paid for extra nights with the hotel. How about calling the tow company and tell them! No offer of compensation and I am a Choice hotels platinum member. Will never stay here again.

Best hotel in area especially for the price One of the nicest and cleanest hotels in the area. We fly out of DTW often and have stayed at several hotels in the area. Best breakfast, clean rooms, everything worked as expected, unlike Quality Inn, friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend above all others in area. Just don’t fill it up when I need it :)

Fantastic Hotel! Such a nice hotel! Clean, bright and new! The room was just what we needed and wanted. Bed and linens were very nice. Room was clean. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Would have preferred scrambled eggs. Seriously, can’t say enough great things!

Very Nice stay at this hotel--Good shuttle to Airport Helpful We were very happy with the hotel. We liked our room and good beds/showers. The shuttle to the airport was excellent, coming and going. We ate at the attached Metro Bistro and were happy with the food. The provided breakfast was very good.

Bad for your health! The minute we walked in, you get hit with this fake smell of sweet plastic. We got our room after a very long night. We walked to the room to find our key didnt work. While in the hall, you can see the rundown, old, smelly side of the hotel that the photos don't show. If only they could. Well, the room, once in, was so putrid smelling I couldn't stand it. I the mattress had stains, like large blood, brown stains with no cover. There were dead bugs if looking directly down in the side of the bed. I was done. I just wanted a refund and to find another hotel. Unfortunately, there is no night manager. No refund could be given. Had to wait until the morning. We were given another room but it still had a smell with bugs on the corners. There was a hand print with fluid stains on the headboard. Because of booking with Booking.com, it made for a very complicated process to try to cancel the reservations. After having to stay another night there I finally was able to cancel our reservations. I was there for a family funeral and so the hotel was just an added stress and just not something any customer should have to deal with. I took pictures and showed the front desk staff. They took pictures of my pictures. If facial expressions could have words. The shuttle driver from the airport to the hotel was amazing _. It was late at night and he was so kind. He even tried to make sure our room was taken care of once he heard what happened. I have traveled all over the world. I have never had an experience like this. The manager was not very customer service oriented. At one point in our dealings with them, we heard how they had to leave for a hair appointment and had another front staff member help us. Clarion hotels will not be choice hotel by a long mile. The pictures are just a small glimpse of what we saw.
