Does what it says on the tin The Econolodge won’t be the nicest hotel you’ve ever stayed in but it’s cheap and you get what you’re expecting. Most importantly, our room was clean and functional and we had a fairly good nights sleep. Only downsides were that a towel rail was hanging off the wall (we let them know so hopefully that’ll get sorted) and the man on reception wasn’t wearing a mask (maybe he had a good reason?). All in all, if you’re looking for somewhere cheap to stay in Sacramento, it does the job.

Dirty. Disrespectful mangement. Awful management. Terrible room. I came here on a last minute trip to Sacramento. I needed a hotel downtown and was in such of a hurry, I did not check any reviews about the property. I knew something was up when I walked toward the property and saw it from the outside. I've been in cheap hotels before but I had no idea that I was coming to this. The room was the filthiest room I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some cheap hotels in the past. There were hairs in the bed that were not mine. Holes in the walls. The toilet was brown and dirty. I called the front desk and told them about the issues and all they did was send a housekeeper to my room with "clean" sheets. To be honest, I don't even know if they were really clean and slept in all of my clothes--including socks. I even went to the Target a few blocks away to get something clean to sleep on because I did not trust it. The room smelled like old dirty cigarettes and arm pits. The microwave stayed on unless you disconnected the plug. The TV was leaning and not straight and did not have any sound coming from it. They ripped me off. I paid almost $200 for two nights in this dump and wish I would have just gotten an AirBnB like I originally planned. I can't do anything about the neighborhood or anything like that--but the room was atrocious and I am warning you, please, if you have to stay in Sacramento downtown--get an AirBNB before you stay at this dump. Learn from my mistake. I will leave pictures of the room below. I was not expecting much from an EconoLodge but this was the worst. It should at least be cleaned and maintained if they are charging that much for a dump per night. What really gets me is that when I complained, no one cared or wanted to help but they quickly took my money. This really makes me reconsider staying at Choice Hotels in the future and I travel a lot--last minute. They promote this dump on thier website and obviously do not know what is going on here. I cannot even call them to give them a heads up about one of their properties. Please beware and do not make the mistake that I made...if the management sees my review, you do not have to respond. Yall didn't respond when I called you to tell you what kind of room I had. You don't have to show off for Trip Advisor. People will see what kind of place I stayed at according to the pictures that I posted. Once again, travelers, beware.

Worst motel I have ever stayed in. This motel is filthy. The room had 2 towels, one face cloth and one wash cloth. The room had two double beds. The room was so small that one of the beds was so close to the bathroom door that you had to turn sideways to get in. The bathtub had a ring around it and was dirty. The exterior walls have dirt and scuff marks. The handrails were extremely dirty. The outside stairs had what looked like urine on the ground. The steps to the second floor have probably never been cleaned. They are black with dirt. Even though some people say there are drug users around, we did not notice them. I would rather sleep in my car than to go back to this place.

Warning do NOT stay! This hotel is such a nasty dump! Full of drug addicts who brake into your car. I reserved a non smoking room and was placed in a horrible smoking room with a terrifying none working bathroom. When I had to shower the water wouldn’t go down fast enough so I had to shower in my dirty water. Disgusting! Unacceptable! There are nicer hotels for better pricing. The place is super run down and sketchy!

Budget and convenient The hotel is located in Sacramento city center. It's in peaceful area. It's far from waterfront around 2 km. Room is large, clean and comfortable. But there is some smoking odor in the room. There is microwave, TV and fridge in the room. Toilet is equipped with bathtub and shower. Wifi is fast connection. Light breakfast is served in the lobby, due to Covid Pandemic guests have to pick it up to eat in their room. Food choice is too little. The parking lot is sufficient. This hotel is good for short stop in Sacramento.
