Too Smelly To Stay! I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express Hotels and this one is by far the worst hotel I have ever attempted to stay at. Upon entering the hotel there was a horrible mildewy smell. I was told the smell had come from the fact that it has just rained. I was given a room on the first floor and it smelled worse than the hallway. There was an extensive amount of water damage on the walls and a few bugs in the bathroom. I requested a room change and was given a room on the 3rd floor. The room still smelled stale and like mildew. The air conditioner wasn't running, so I thought maybe if I started to get some air circulating in the room, the room would smell better. My husband and I went out for the afternoon and unfortunately when we returned the room smelled even worse. I told my husband there was no way I could spend the night there. I was afraid breathing in the mildew would be bad for my lungs. I have never had to leave a hotel because the sleeping conditions were terrible. I am disappointed that I was charged for one night when I did not sleep in the hotel. We did not even open our suitcases. The only PRO about the hotel was that the front desk clerks were kind. It's not their fault the hotel stinks, literally. I don't know if it was poor ventilation or that the carpets need to be pulled up, but something needs to be done about the stale mildew smell that permeates the building. I am very disappointed and would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!

Older poorly maintained facility. This is an older facility which has had some updates, but not well maintained. Tile missing from bathroom wall, desk lamp didn't work, alarm clock display missing a digit, seating in breakfast area stained, ice machine on our floor out of order. All this said, breakfast was typical hotel breakfast and was okay, beds were comfortable and overall experience was okay.

Poor Plumbing Poor plumbing. 3/4 requests to repair toilet without a satisfactory result. I think they made an effort, but likely some systemic problem throughout the building. Property doesn’t look cared for…dangerous holes all over the entry drive and parking lot..some 3 feet wide and 3 or 4 inches deep. Hallway rugs and elevator dirty.

Wonderful Staff Lora, the night audit clerk, was such a lovely and caring person. My boyfriend got stranded in San Antonio on his way to Houston and she went above and beyond to help us out in the early morning with anything that she could do!!

July 2023 Fine One Night Stay We stayed one night as my daughter had a class 3 min away the next morning. Location was great for our purpose. We were on 2nd floor in king room. It was a handicap room. Not what I booked but it was fine for us. It had an extra small room off side with a door, window, own ac, desk, sink, microwave, coffee pot, and a storage cabinet like a closet with iron and board and also a safe. The main room had a chair, small fridge, bed and very cold AC!! Tv was basic flat. Bathroom had no cabinet space. I assume for wheelchair access. So towels were on top next to sink and weirdly had hand towels with washcloths on top hanging next to toilet. We were in 202, which is end of hall to back right of hotel. Quiet out back but by stair door which slams, it closes fast behind you. Looked like parking out back but parked opposite side of hotel. Took stairs down as seemed faster. Breakfast had eggs, sausage Patties, biscuits, oatmeal, yogurt, muffins and yummy warm cinnamon rolls. And the other basic cereal , juice, coffee…. Everyone was nice from desk staff to breakfast lady even maintenance who knocked on door around 10 asking if there was anything in my room he needed to fix. I didn’t notice except bathroom door doesn’t close right. Or the door to room looks like it needs a lil maintenance. Room is not the cleanest but it was fine for our one night stay. Just baseboards in bathroom and a few other things. Bed was clean and comfy! We felt safe and would stay again if in that area as price was right!
