Mission Bay Inn San Diego

Horrible Horrible! If I could give zero stars, I would... I had to come to San Diego for a family emergency during Christmas. First, when checking in there was a gentleman at the counter talking about someone who broke into their room and stole stuff. The lady behind the counter was looking at the security camera and instead of being sympathetic was blaming him because she thinks he left the door open. The hotel is under renovations, so very messy and noisy constriction all day, even on Christmas. The shower didn't work all the way.... the bottom faucet stayed on with the shower, so very little water pressure out of the shower head. Plus, the curtain was too small, so water got all over the floor. The carpet was FILTHY. Shortly after taking a shower, our feet were black. Hot tub would get hot, but the bubbles didn't work. My teenage daughter got sexually catcalled by another guest while at the pool, so we quickly went back inside. The next morning, another guest unlocks our door and walks in on me sleeping an my daughter changing! The front desk marked us as a no show, and reversed all payments minus one night. Since it's a holiday, it takes several days to return to my card. Rather than be apologetic or even sympathetic, the lady at the front desk accused us of being squatters and threatened to kick us out by noon if we didn't pay again. I had to have a family member send us money, as the funds they returned didn't come back right away. Again, no apology or even any sign of accountability. Then when a cockroach ran across our clothes we finally had enough. They finally offered one night stay refund. The only saving grace is it's so close to the beach and freeway.... but seriously there's so many others. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Go elsewhere. Disgusting place and horrible customer service.

Great! Service was amazing there! Shoutout to Pren and Mimi at the coffee shop. Those two always had such a positive attitude and I had nice conversations with the both of them. Overall awesome customer service and the coffee was delicious. ___

Not a good experience The location is not bad, a walking distance to the beach. The room is big. However, the reality is far away from the photos, the hotel’s profile nat appealing at all, the mattress and pillows not comfortable. The sleeping couch is not clean. The pool and hot tub are in the middle of the parking lot with no lights. I couldn’t use it. The price was too high for the quality, I paid $350 for 2 nights. I will not be staying in this hotel again.

Total DUMP I would NEVER recommend or stay at this place again. We got to our room and the air conditioner did not work. They sent a maintenance person to temporarily fix it and it broke again right after he left. We changed rooms and that room stunk of mildew and a hint of cigarette smoke. (This is a non-smoking property) At least the air conditioning worked and we sucked it up so we didn’t lose the $330 for 2 nights to move to a different hotel. I wish I took photos! Summary of our experience: CONS: - room smelled of mildew and odor of old cigarette smoke - room carpet damp, ripped and stained - elevator broker - property exterior and interior was falling apart. Paint coming off walls, dirty. Needs major upkeep. - $$ expensive $150 night. What?!!! At least expected it to be clean and not falling apart. - room mirror frame broken and falling off - room wallpaper in bathroom peeling - bath tub had brown gunk underneath the perimeter. - bedding was thin and worn out. No comforter. - gym was “out of service” and pretty junky room -sketchy unsightly lot adjacent to property PROS - close to beaches and central location off I- 5 - bed was comfortable - shower pressure was good - several HBO channels - breakfast included and over weekend Included hot and cold items - maintenance person came right away

Wouldn't recommend, smelly room and dead roach Room had a terrible smell. Carpet felt dirty Roach _ on the floor, see picture Bathroom is tiny and horrible Staff are nice Breakfast ok but dining area is very small and crowded Close to Mission Bay park and freeway and 7-Eleven which is handy
