STAY AWAY I recently had an extremely unpleasant stay at the Sunrise Inn. Upon checking in at 3 pm, I found that the room had not been cleaned. The state of the room was utterly unacceptable - it was filthy, with mold visible in various spots. To make matters worse, the pillowcases had blood spots on them. The microwave was rusted and infested with bugs, emitting a foul odor that made it unusable. The overall hygiene and maintenance of the room were severely lacking. We were so disgusted that we had to leave in the middle of the night. I do not recommend that anyone stay at this hotel. It was a nightmare!

Horrible Place This hotel was the absolute most disgusting one I have ever seen! It looked like it had not been maintained at all since the lovely pictures on your site. The floors to the rooms were so worn that you could see the metal mesh below the concrete or whatever they put on top. The rooms looked unmade, the furniture was falling apart, there were no wash cloths, and the curtains were just rags. I was happy I left without bed bugs!!

Don’t do it. DO NOT STAY HERE, this has to be the most disgusting hotel I have ever stepped foot in. Everything from stained sheets, former guests hair all over the carpets and furniture, broken extractor fans, mildew and a lack of smoke alarms. I raised this with management and all 3 rooms offered to me were the same. The front desk lady repeatedly argued with a paying customer when I mentioned the rooms were not clean and “disgusting”, and was incredibly defensive about the hotel. The manager told me to leave the property, and I had to find a new hotel for the night. Quite frankly, how I was spoken to was appalling. Expedia refused to refund my two night stay here, and had to request a chargeback from my bank for the cost. I have reported to San Diego Environmental Health. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Location is the only redeeming factor for this hotel. Stayed one night. Would NEVER stay here again. Room smell was not pleasant. Sheets were stained. Most outlets did not work so I had to unplug a lamp to allow cell phone charging. Only redeeming factor was proximity to the airport as well as walkable to restaurants.

Terrible Terrible. We viewed the place online. It was nothing like what was online. Stains, on the box spring. I'm talking large brown and black one. One large brown blanket on the bed with one fitted sheet. Nothing else. Water damage and mold on the ceiling. Dirt, grime. We decided it was not going to work for us. We went down and said we would like a refund. The person at the desk asked why. We said politely it was not up to the standards we were expecting. She got very upset. She said the room was the best they had. When we asked her name she refused. She said she could not process our refund and the manager would call. Still no call. False advertising. Disgusting rooms. Horrible service.
