Good stay for the first-timers The hotel is conveniently located in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. It is very close to everything: nightlife, the San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park. But it’s far away from the activities and the noise. The bed is comfortable, and the breakfast is good. Stuff is attentive and gracious. We would stay here again.

Conveniently located within walking distance of Petco Park We stayed here for two nights in April 2024 with our 6 year old daughter on a trip to California. This hotel is conveniently situated in San Diego, and was within walking distance to Petco Park (we went to a Padres game while we were here). The room was clean, but it was an odd layout (the kitchenette and bathroom sink were in the main bedroom area, which is strange to be combined). The bed was super comfy, but with the in-window air conditioner, the curtains blow upwards above the A/C, making the sunlight arrive quite early in the morning! There is a breakfast included, and it was decent enough for something to eat before heading out for the day (eggs, waffles, sausages, fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc.). Parking here is a bit pricey, so we parked off-site on the next block. Overall, it was a decent hotel to stay in, but not one I would want to be in for a long period of time.

We stayed from 3.2.24 to 3.3.24 in Comfort Inn room 120 Aside from what has been documented in photos (like a desk without a lamp, and slow bathtub drainage), the room was stuffy and AC did not help much leading to an unsatisfying night. The upkeep needs to be improved. Given the room's price and parking cost, I feel I was short changed. I am not interested in coming back here at all.

Five nights for convention My last time in San Diego was 5 years ago. This time, I stayed at Comfort Inn Gaslamp. The hotel was convenient for convention. It took 10 minutes to SDCC on foot. My room was not spacious but it was ok for me. The room was clean with comfortable bed. The hotel provided free breakfast with wide variety. The hotel people were quite friendly. Please be noted that the maid was making up room every other day. I will come back for convention next year if possible.

Location/price good, rest not so much Stayed for conference, the convention center is a reasonable walk and there are many restaurants in the area. Check-in was smooth and Celeste was very friendly and helpful. Stayed on 2nd floor facing G Street which was VERY loud late into the night. The hotel put two pairs of earplugs on the counter, so you should try to ask for quieter location. I understand small rooms in older urban hotels, but it still needs to be modernized. The sticker tile floor was peeled up in a couple spots, catching socks or scratching bare feet. TV stopped working the 2nd day, called down and the promised fixer never came so I gave up. The breakfast selection was fine and the worker running it was excellent at keeping up with the capacity crowd. I almost always give high consideration to cost, but in this case I'd pay more for a nicer/quieter stay
