Amazing Stay I wanted to take time to send our appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. 2021 our family decided to have an adventure and visit the west coast. Not only was this a family vacation but a birthday celebration for our son. The General Manager took the time to personally wish him a “Happy Birthday”. Additionally, the staff signed a card and provided a beautiful cookie tray! They made the birthday guy feel so special. Thank you for that. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are lovely. However it is the people who made this a 10 star visit.

Excellent breakfast for Platinum Guests I stayed here in early August 2021 for a family vacation. I have a platinum status and was treated very well. This might be the best hotel in the Marriott family in San Diego for guests with elite status. First off, we had 3 rooms and they extended benefits to all 3 rooms. Second, breakfast wasn't just continental breakfast ($12 on menu) but $50/room credit, which could easily cover a big breakfast for two (or three) with lattes. Third, there are $8 credits (need to request the coupons each day) issued just in case you exceeded your generous breakfast benefit. I saved these all up and used them to raid the coffee shop for junk food on my last day. (You can use them only for food (no alcohol) at all F&B venues at the hotel). Fourth, drink credits that come with your destination fee are per day and not per trip (not sure if this is an extra benefit for those with status or all guests get 2 drinks/day). Need to ask for them daily. I'd avoid the house cabernet sauvignon and go for the pinot grigio. Better yet, go for the Stone beer on tap (all draft beer are covered by the drink coupons). Also, usual free internet for members. Rooms themselves were nice and clean. Gym was average size for a hotel of this size with treadmills, bikes, free weights, etc. Didn't experience the pool area. Location is close to gas lamp with lots of restaurants. Walking distance to the waterfront although we drove the approximate 10 blocks. Everyone working there was very friendly. Would stay here again if I visit San Diego.

July 2021 Post Covid Family Reunion The common spaces in this hotel were a perfect gathering for our extended multigenerational family after over 1.5 years of seeing each other. The lobby and bar are sprinkled with living room vignettes of varying sizes to accommodate small and groups as large as 12-15people. During the day, we had the pleasure of having Aria be our bartender. She was attentive and super friendly. Every evening for the 4 nights we stayed, Erica was a perfect mixologist, making my Bourbon Old Fashioned exactly as instructed by my husband on day 1. The staff didn't bat an eye on a day when one of our party became sick leaving ten of us in the bar lobby playing a Battle Royale of Catan for hours!! This was our first visit to San Diego and the location was perfect. We hope to stay here again. Housekeeping was very prompt and thorough. My only negative was that the lobby ladies bathroom vanities could have been cleaner; and the shower design in the rooms could be better to avoid so much water spilling out onto the floor. All in all a great visit and would recommend this hotel; especially the bar staff.

Fantastic stay, felt like a very valued customer! Stayed at the Westin Gaslamp for a small getaway with family. The staff was very friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. The amenities offered as part of the resort fee and for my Titanium status are extremely generous. The concierge was particularly friendly and accommodating. The restaurant service and food were very good--nice menu. We used the free paddle boarding and kayaks and were very happy, what a great amenity. The roof top play area for the kids, with ping-pong, and other outdoor games was really nice. I even spoke with staff at the cafe who told me how fantastic the hotel general manager was to work for and how much he loved his job! Overall it was a fantastic stay and we'll definitely be back.

Great Experience staying at The Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter! The Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter staff was excellent! Everyone we encountered - housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, valet, restaurant, store - were friendly and courteous! As a example, a bulb went out in our bathroom. I called the front desk and they said they would have maintenance come right up. Not only did they come up in a timely manner but two maintenance folks came. Each came with a different light bulb in case the socket was a different connection. The location is within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and some of the staff gave us some great recommendations! This location truly knows the meaning of customer service.
