Great Stay! I was torn between a 4 and 5 on this review because, as others have stated, they have the unfortunate problem of being across the street from a very VERY loud OUTDOOR bar that cranks the music until 2am. But being as this isn't really the hotel's fault but their misfortune, I went with a 5 because the owners were so lovely and accommodating. They gave us a room before check-in time, which helped us greatly, as we were concerned about our luggage, and they also allowed us an extra half hour to tour after check out without issue, which they didn't have to do, so we appreciated it. The room is beautiful and very spacious. We were on the 3rd floor and, had it not been so foggy, we would have had a lovely view of the bridge right from our window, which was unexpected! We saw it peek out once in a while, so that was exciting. I really didn't see the decor as outdated as others have said, and certainly everything was very clean. The free parking is excellent, the location is great, having the 28 bus stop literally outside the door, AND you can walk just 1/2 mile straight down the road and land at the marina with stunning views of the bridge. The neighborhood felt very safe to walk around. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Dreary 2 star hotel has issues This hotel is in a good location and parking is free. With that said, the room is dominated by a heavy oak armoire which holds a TV and safe. That's the only amenities offered. Trying to get a goldilocks temperature from the shower was nearly impossible. Turning the valve in the shower a small amount rewarded you with either scalding hot or freezing cold water. The same issue was repeated at the bathroom sink. The shower curtain was yellowed and either needed a good wash or maybe to be replaced. One of the emergency exits had the exit door at the bottom of the stairs taped closed. The elevator, (which failed to restart after a neighboorhood power outage), sounded like it was overdue for maintenence. Everytime the doors closed, you wondered if they would ever reopen. I opted for this facility because of it's location and it seemed to be a bit less expensive then nearby hotels. Don't make the same mistake I made. Invest your travel budget somewhere else.

Terrible hotel This was the worst stay ever. We were on a holiday for 3 weeks, and stayed I 9 different hotels. This was terrible. The water in the bathroom was either boiling hot or freezing cold, it was really difficulty to get the correct temperature. Friday night there was so much noise from the bars in the area. It was awful, and difficult to Sleep. But the absolute worst part is our room was full of ants. The first day we saw a few in the bathroom, and they came and sprayed. In the room it was difficult to see at first because of the dark carpet, but after second night several of our suitcases became alive. It was so disgusting. We were so angry, and complained and wanted a refund. The manager was cold, and would only refund 1 night. Worst stay ever. We travel with kids, and is absolutely not picky.

Great location and rooms, free parking Great location and room, free parking We really enjoyed staying at this hotel, and next time will try to stay longer. The staff are a very good and helpful. The free parking (both surface and underground) was secure, and the parking area had clean floors.

Decent stay at Chelsea Inn Firstly the location is great, Lombard and Fillmore, near bars and restaurants, the 28 bus stops right outside and will take you down to near Pier 33 and 39. Parking is available and easy to access. Rooms are large, bed’s comfortable, decor is a little dated. We requested a fridge as they’re not included in the room price. We paid 5 dollars per day but it was worth it. Staff were polite and helpful. Now the bad. The bar opposite, Jackson’s is open from Wednesday to Saturday until 2am and the noise was unbearable. My husband wore ear plugs and I listened to the Calm app on my phone as there was no way of getting away from it. That’s the only thing that lets it down. If you’re ok with that and can sleep through it, then this hotel is ideal. The only other gripe was one family members shower had intermittent hot water, the air con unit was ancient, looks like the room needs updating.
