Very clean and well maintained Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room, given the affordable price. Free parking is available but they only have about 10-12 spots. Once those fill up you need to find parking elsewhere......

BUYER BEWARE! I recently experienced the epitome of bad management at the Rodeway Inn Civic Center in San Francisco. I had stayed there multiple times in the past without incident. I didn't complain that the ice maker has been out of order for years. I didn't complain about two abandoned cars that were parked in their very limited parking which meant that guests had to park out in the street alongside people living in tents on the sidewalk. I didn't complain about other minor incidents because this is a very inexpensive hotel that I use primarily when I'm on business in San Francisco and I simply need a clean room for the night. After my fourth stay in under two weeks I noticed two significant cleaning issues in my room. I reported these to management as I checked out. The manager on duty was not authorized to do anything about the situation and referred me to the general manager, whom I emailed and stated my concerns along with photos of this issues. The manager apologized for the oversight and offered a $25 deduction in the room rate which I accepted. Upon reviewing my credit card statement, I saw that indeed there had been a deduction, but that was immediately followed by a charge for the same $25! Being righteously upset, I confronted the manager via email and asked him if he really thought he was going to get away with that. He again apologized, this time blaming it on new employees that were not familiar with the payment system. Fast forward to my next reservation. I had booked a room, and when I was in the car literally headed to the hotel, I saw that I had a missed call from the hotel. I called and asked if everything was fine with my reservation. The manager on duty informed me that my reservation had been canceled and I had been placed on the DNR (do not rent) list! So THIS is how management at this hotel treats those that have valid concerns about their stays! I have sent multiple emails to management informing them that despite the fact that I saw their move as an act of war, that I was willing to forgive and forget. But I am also now the recipient of the royal silent treatment. I informed the manager that if he did not remove me from the DNR list, that I would share about my experience everywhere I possibly could, and I am doing that now. I could list so many things about this property that would shock potential guests. Again, all I need is a quiet place with a clean room, and this property provides barely that but it works for me and my minimalist expectations. The one time I complained about the cleanliness issues, I was banned from future stays. Buyer beware!

Reasonable accommodation for the price For the San Francisco area, the Rodeway Inn Civic Center is a low cost hotel. Don't expect high end accommodations snd you won't be disappointed. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet when considering the Eddy Street facing location. The office staff was friendly and even provided a slightly early check-in.

Solid Bargain Choice The rooms are clean, the private bathrooms are newly remodeled, and the free garage parking make this a good choice. The ice machine, inoperable for at least a year is partnered alongside the broken soda vending machine. The furniture is fine in some rooms, but rough in others. The televisions need to be replaced rather urgently. But the internet is free, the location is good and safe, and the management is conscientious, courteous, and appropriately attentive. All this considered, this is perhaps the best bargain lodging in SF.

Living local San Francisco Average hotel by City hall and Van Ness. Free secured parking, free internet and average clean rooms. Close to bus stop on Van Ness that takes you to fisherman's wharf. Cable car on California St is 8 blocks away, 10 min walk or take the bus which is a 3 min ride to it.
