Great Location and Fantastic Service A group of 6 of us stayed at the SW Hotel in April 2023. The rooms are basic (reflective of the price) but the location and service are FANTASTIC. We only stayed for one night after flying into San Francisco then heading further afield for a wedding. Despite it only being a one night stay, Jennifer (the manager) was extremely helpful in advance of our stay (responding to numerous queries and organising a transfer car from the airport). Then when we arrived 4 hours before check in time she let us know the rooms were ready if we wanted to go straight up (she knew we'd just got off a long flight from Australia). Check out was seamless and we were so grateful to the staff.

Vacation Hotel is in a great location right near Chinatown. Easy walking areas and plenty of food options. Future stays we will request a room away from the road as the traffic and street noise was loud. Recommend earplugs if you stay on the front side. Service was great and they allowed early check in without a fee. Definitely recommend

Great central location Had a great stay at this hotel. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable and location was central to all that we wanted to do while in San Francisco and right on the edge of China town

Great Location! Great Staff! Clean Rooms! Spent the weekend in San Francisco, CA for the North Beach fair 2022 and to visit family. Found this gem of a hotel. The room was clean and had what you need for a room (bed, full bathroom w/ tub, TV, and refrigerator). No coffee, but no worries - I went to Caffee Greco for my morning Mocha. I suggest to bring your own hairdryer (the provided hotel hairdryer was a bit fickled, but front desk does have a one - but you have to bring it back after use). Hotel right on the border of Chinatown and North Beach. You can walk to the Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, etc. Lastly, the Hotel staff were outstanding!! Jen at the front desk and everyone communicated very well. I requested that my room to be cleaned daily. No problem getting Lyft/Uber. Hotel held our bags on our check-out day, so we can do our walk around the city before leaving San Francisco. Enjoy

Don’t stay here… Do not stay here. This hotel is not at like the descriptions. Upon arrival there was nowhere to park so we called the desk and they let us in the underground garage. That part was fine. Except there was only one other car. That should have been our first red flag since it was later in the evening that we were checking in.
We asked to see our room before checking in and it was small and not at all accommodating for two women. There was only one bed (which to save money we did on purpose) and no where to put our things, but we decided we would check to see if they could give us a different room or make it work.
We then checked in and took the one bed. The price to change rooms was almost double what we paid so we decided against changing rooms, so we brought up our luggage. Again noticing that noticing that there was only other car and one other person we saw, which was the receptionist. We go into our room set our luggage down and inspect the room a little more.
The bed was incredibly firm. It did not have a fitted sheet, only a flat sheet tucked under and the blanket was a foam one, there was no real blanket. The refrigerator was broken and making loud noises, there was no safe, no curtains, and the faucet was leaking from the handles. We were not given enough towels or pillows for two people.
We set our stuff down and went out to dinner. When we came back the hotel was still empty. But we pushed on and then noticed there was no lock on the door apart from the key deadbolt used to get in. There was nothing stopping anyone from having another key and walking right in.
The website describes this place as an upscale boutique hotel with Chinese artwork. There was none. Zero art work.
