San Ignacio Resort Hotel

Great Hotel and Staff This hotel was just fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make your stay pleasant. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean with a lot of history behind it. The restaurant had good food and the view on the balcony while eating was extremely relaxing. Certainly will be back for business.

PERFECT INTRO TO BELIZE OVERVIEW: First time to Belize - started out the trip in San Ignacio to be closer to all the ruin and adventure-type experiences. I brought my mom and we came during the “slow season." With 8 days in Belize -wanted to do four on the mainland in San Ignacio and the other Four in San Pedro (taking a day trip to Caye Caulker at least one of those days - which was accomplished on a snorkeling trip). WHY WE CHOSE THIS HOTEL; -CLOSE TO TOWN: (wanted to be able to walk to nightlife or have other eating options). The resort is literally next door to the casino which hosts a night club inside of it. The other lodges and things are close-ish to San Ignacio town, but being limited to our hotel options and having to coordinate a ride and all that wasn’t something we wanted to do. It’s far enough from the noise - and has the right amount of jungle feel to it. -ROOM OPTIONS & STANDARDS: The amenities and standard is one of the best we found. We stayed two nights in the double queen bed room and then upgraded to the Royal Suite the last part of our stay. The royal suite was perfect so that my mom and I could have our own rooms and bathrooms and share a living space. The refrigerator also comes stocked with a couple of beers and some sodas. A coffee making station is also in the room as well. A jacuzzi is outside on the balcony which is also unreal during a sunrise or sunset with some coffee and all the different birds they have flying around. The rates were cut since it was slow season and the best rates are gonna be by booking directly through their site vs travel portals. -EASE/ACCESABILITY I found the value to be worth the price. There are more budget friendly options, but for a vacation hands-off experience rather than backpack kind of feel - this was the place. I like that you can coordinate a ride from the airport/to the ferry, book tours, and have a high quality restaurant on-site with the town close by. The Iguana Conservation is also on site and we were able to do that on day 1 about an hour after landing, enjoy some food, and the nightlife. Special Shout-outs: CARLOS: The one that picked us up from the airport and also guided us during our cave tubing exploration at Jaguar Paw. ELITO: from The Running W Restaurant was a super cool dude and even helped us coordinate a ride pick up at our next location on San Pedro. OZZY: at the concierge made sure we were good to go with activities and recs and even left us a hand-written list of things to do in San Pedro.

Wonderful Resort Stay What a wonderful resort!! We were treated like royalty at San Ignacio. Every employee we encountered greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and so enjoyable. They provided transportation for us that was stress free and right on time every time. Another bonus, for our family, was its proximity to the Xunantunich Ruins. (Which we booked as an add on and this was very convenient) Our family would highly recommend this Belize resort.

Great Hotel. Awesome Food. Excellent Guest Service. GO VISIT! Pure comfort and excellent service from the moment I checked in with Vashti at the front desk until the moment I left with Carla and Cruz helping me down the steps from the Honeymoon Suite. The resort is lovely. The food is A1. I didn't have a single food item there that wasn't utterly delicious. Carla was my butler for the time that I was there and if I could've stayed there forever, I would have. She is a true gem. I honestly plan to return just for the excellent treatment that she bestowed upon me. My room (Honeymoon suite) was very nice and well-appointed. I slept comfortably and serenely minus keeping an eye open for mosquitos (comes along with any visit to the Caribbean) and the little lizard that was keeping me company in my room (they're harmless and eat the mosquitos, so Mr. Lizard & I decided to keep the peace between us). The cleanliness in the room was the only drawback. It was not terrible at all, but cobwebs were in quite a few places (including around the base of the TV), along with thicker dust under most of the furniture in the room. Also, there was a bit of a layer of duct on the drinks inside the mini-fridge, it's possible they haven't been swapped out in quite awhile. Nonetheless, still a lovely property. The absolute best ceviche I've ever had and the best butler EVER! And the front desk staff was awesome at helping us plan, get transportation to and from excursions and restaurants. If you do venture to San Ignacio Resort, take advantage of the Honeymoon suite and ask for Carla if you have a butler. And tip her exceedingly well - she deserves it! :-)

Such a wonderful stay The San Ignacio Resort Hotel is a fantastic place to stay at. Surrounded by jungle, the property features a nice pool under trees, ultra comfortable beds and a high end service. Intimacy, luxury, elegance, yet friendly and easy going atmosphere, the San Ignacio Resort Hotel is THE place to stay in San Ignacio.
