Friendly staff. Hotel needs a refresh. Hotel staff were friendly and the property is very dog friendly. The hotel itself needs a refresh. Hallway carpets needed vacuuming. Room floor and walls were worn, scratched and chipped. HVAC did not work and they were not able to fix it while we were there. Thankfully the staff brought us an extra blanket. We weee there only one night and did not spend much time in the room. Several towels were stained. For $175/ night we expect more from a room. Lyft driver suggested we don’t walk neighborhood after dark. Stay somewhere else in San Jose.

**Disappointing Stay- Not Family-Friendly and Poor Hygiene** We recently stayed at this hotel just for one night.. And unfortunately our stay was far less than satisfactory. **Cleanliness** Our biggest concern was the hygiene of this hotel. From the moment we walked in, we noticed people drinking in the parking lot, dirty walls to add to this terrible sub par experience. The following morning, I turned the kitchen lights on and to my shock and dismay there were numerous COCKROACHES!!!...just running about on the kitchen counter. This experience was incredibly disgusting, upsetting and disappointing. I did how ever attempt to speak to the manager but, there was quite the language barrier, he could not understand a word I was saying. Or maybe he was pretending to not understand. Can't say for sure. But, either way we will never stay here again!

Don’t trust Extended Stay America website or staff. Don’t trust Extended Stay America website or staff. I booked at Extended Stay America and had entered the wrong dates by mistake. Their website says 24 hours to cancel a reservation. Called 5 minutes later to cancel and they would not cancel or refund for the mistake. I called the hotel later and the guy at the front desk said he gave a refund. Guess what? No refund ever appeared. Staff lied. Corporate does not live up to their policy. Stay away from any Extended Stay America!

Worst and most unsafe hotel I've ever stayed in I stayed here for work for 2 nights. I have never felt more unsafe in a hotel. There were people loitering around who appeared to be on some mind altering substance. There was a 'security guard' looking at his phone. People were yelling & slamming doors all night both nights. Domestic violence in hallway outside my door at 6:00 am on a Monday. My room was right by front desk, but front desk staff did nothing. They were "out" of basic supplies, like dish soap. The tub dripped water all night and kept me awake. On the first morning, I asked that it be repaired, but when I returned that night, nothing had been done. I was told the maintenance person left at 5:00 and since it was after 5, nothing could be done. So I listened to the water dripping the second night. Lots of things were broken, such as the security gate to the parking lot. No one seemed in any rush to repair any of the broken items. I have always trusted Trust Advisor's green dots, and this is the first time they've steered me wrong. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Run away.

Misleading Images on Website and Incompetent Staff Scammed Me out of a Room and Hundreds of Dollars I went to stay here for the entire summer while I was working in the Bay Area. I made a reservation months in advance so I could get a better rate. I chose this location SPECIFICALLY because the rooms looked better on the website and had clear pictures of a desk workstation that I could use for working from my room. I even called the front desk ahead of time to confirm this. Pulled into the parking lot and the security gate was broken and permanently open. Seemed sketchy. When I got to the room, there was no desk or dedicated space for working. I went down to the front desk and asked the lady if there were rooms with desks, to which she responded that there weren't. So I was left to frantically search for another place to stay. After finding another ESA location nearby that claimed they had desks, I made a reservation with the new location. I had to pay hundreds of dollars more for my twelve-week stay because I did not make the reservation in advance. We returned back to this location to cancel my reservation and check out. We had to wait 15 minutes at the front desk for an attendant to come back and help us. This man had BLOOD ON HIS SHIRT and FACE TATTOOS. When we were surprised that he was the front desk attendant, he said, "What? You don't think I work here?" No, we don't think that this face-tattooed, shirt-bloodied man works here. Anyways, we tried to check out but the man said that his system wasn't letting him check us out. We told him that we could not stay here and returned our keys to indicate that we were not staying in the room. Since it was after 6:00 pm, we could not cancel our reservation. Since it was a Saturday, I couldn't make a refund request until the next BUSINESS DAY. I called support on the next business day and asked for a refund, and they informed me that I hadn't even been checked out of my room. Ugh. I checked out over the phone and told them about my situation. They said they could refund me for the days I wasn't staying but I'd have to talk to the hotel manager directly about the days I "did stay." I called the manager and he kept telling me that I must have stayed in the room because it shows on his system as me checking in on Saturday and checking out on Monday. Even after I told him about my situation he said that some of the rooms do have desks and that the front desk person must have misunderstood my question. How is that be my problem? I continued to explain to him that I never actually stayed in the room and tried to check out with the front desk but they said the system wouldn't let them. He told me he'd conduct an investigation and get back to me in a few days. I called back a few days later to ask for an update. He said that he asked his staff and they remember me checking in on Saturday. He said the best he could do was give me 20% of what I paid for the two nights as ESA credit. Offended, I wanted to check that he talked to the man, not the woman. I asked again what the front desk person said and the manager said, "she told me-" but I stopped and said, "No, you're mistaken. The person we tried to check out with was a MAN," and I described the guy who tried to check us out. Seemingly defeated, the manager said he'd give me a refund. After saying this, he begged like a child for me to leave a good review on TripAdvisor. No, I don't think I will. I lost hundreds of dollars and was put through an extremely stressful check-in experience and had to stay at another location. Total incompetence.
