Not what you would expect It’s better! The lady with the dark hair seemed to be doing it all. She checked me in, brought me towels and even delivered hot tea to my room because she knew I was feeling sick from my meal down the street. She offered to stop and get me crackers. I went down later that day to say thank you and she was literally using google translate or something to communicate with some lady who was lost. The lady wasn’t even staying at the hotel just a lady who was freaked out I think. The hotel was very clean I really enjoyed the quiet room. The rooms were a good size and the location was great. I will be back next time I come to California!

WARNING - STAY AWAY As a fairly loyal Marriott guest it pains me to leave a bad review but this place deserves it. Check-in and employee interaction was fine but the room was so bad we just had to laugh about it. Five of us stayed in a one bedroom suite with 2 double beds and a sofa bed. The bedroom was so small the two beds were pushed against the walls making it hard for the inside person to get out. There were no linens for the sofa bed in the unit - had to call down for them to be brought up. The toilet would periodically not flush - about every fourth or fifth time. It also "ran" almost constantly and was very loud. There was no extra roll of toilet paper. Only 3 bath towels for 5 people. The glass shelf next to the sink was falling off the wall. They are doing some remodeling and my kids said they could hear construction noise above us during the night. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but do yourself a favor and try the other Marriott property down the street.

Terrible experience For context, I have never written a 1-star review and I have written many reviews. Further context, I have been a lifelong Marriott member, most recently called BonVoy, where I hold a platinum status. I have stayed in various Residence Inns over the years with my family. The decline in quality in all aspects and service domains is astounding, especially since the pandemic. For the rate we paid, with the membership history I hold, we deserve better treatment. We stayed in unit #207. Our detailed observations: 1. The building was under construction. This led to the first floor staircase door to the lobby closed, which required one to exit to the outside of the building, go around entirely, to get back to the lobby. This is a problem, because the elevators weren't properly working at least half of our stay, which was for 6 days. We ended up with the very inconvenient choice of waiting for the elevator forever or going with the stairs and being forced the around-the-building detour. On a related note, when I was coming back from a nearby CVS on foot, the same door on the side to the staircase cannot be reentered using the room key. I went around the building unfortunately on the side opposite to the main entrance, where further side entrances, otherwise equipped with a card reader, would not open. Further, due to some fencing, one cannot fully encircle the building counterclock-wise, if you try you end up on the 11B exit ramp off 78, so you have to go back, go around the building clock-wise to get back to the main entrance. 2. The condition of the unit was terrible. First, one of the beds was completely apart, in pieces. I had to remove the mattress, the spring box, and then secure the metal rods to construct the frame, which was difficult, as the legs on the central rod were bent. The bed in the other room had the wrong sized sheet (king bed, queen linen). The wallpaper was coming off in the bathroom, one drawer could not be closed, a leather chair was in poor condition similar to what you see with furniture put out to the street etc (see attached photos). This condition and quality would be unacceptable even for an inn at 1/2 the rate of this one. 3. The "breakfast" was just atrocious. A brown bag with a cookie bar, a bottle of water, and an apple, plus some tiny pastry wrapped in plastic paper. We ended up buying our own breakfast and did not even take the brown bags after the first morning. 4. Hotel services were essentially none. We could rent an AirBnB entire house for the same rate and have no room service/cleaning services. The whole idea of a hotel stay is that you have services. We have 2 small kids and they necessarily will generate some cleanup needs. We did not have our rooms cleaned even once throughout the 6-day stay. We asked once, about mid-way through our stay, and we were told that we should call the next morning. We did call the next morning at which time we were told that "due to the pandemic" there is room cleaning service only once a week, which happened to be outside of our stay so we did not get any room cleaning at all. I find it appalling that a presumably reputable chain like Marriott would allow the obviously dishonest argument about the pandemic to be used to downgrade service. 5. One of the nights during our stay there was a loud party above us, going into 2 AM. I called at 1.30 AM to report, but the banging, jumping, nonstop bumm-bumm would not stop. I did fall eventually asleep at about 2 AM, but I cannot say for sure if they actually stopped the partying or I was just too exhausted and ended up sleeping through it. I find it very disappointment that I bring my family to relax on our much coveted vacation and then we are subjected to this noise, preventing sleep. 6. The hotel was dirty - in the common areas and in the unit as well. I am attaching a couple of photos that shows the dirt on the rail for the closet's sliding door. 7. The common/lobby bathroom, in the men's room, was dysfunctional. First, the flush was broken. Second, there was no soap in the soap dispenser. All in all, this was a nightmare of a stay. Clearly, whoever manages the place has zero interest to keep it up to decent conditions/standards even to the most basic level. As a result this probably was the last time we stayed a Residence Inn in a while.

Very noisy I had a room on the 4th floor and there was so much road noise. I had the A/C fan on constant and still heard traffic noises. There was no clock on the bedside table and one light bulb was burned out/broken on the desk table lamp. The work order was put in but neither was addressed. When I called down I was told that 'they were out of clocks' - does this mean they are breaking and/or being stolen- but either way the hotel is not buying new ones. There was no reason given for why the work order was not complete and the maintenance person had already left for the day. As one reviewer noted, I also saw bagged garbage sitting in the hallway for an unacceptable amount of time. The bathroom door- when opened, blocked the vanity and sink- seems like it should have opened the other direction. Due to the noise, unsure if I would stay here again.

Make sure to bring your hazmat suit and all of your own supplies... The room was not clean - it smelled smoky and musty. There was leftover hair in the shower from the previous stay - but hey, at least they left three antibacterial hand wipes on the desk. (By the way, those hand wipes are Benzethonium Chloride and don't kill coronavirus) The front desk staff was unavailable and unhelpful, and over the course of an EIGHT DAY stay, it was difficult to get things like basic amenities refilled. I understand that we are in a pandemic and that we must remain understanding and flexible, but it is absurd to be expected to go eight days with only two towels for two guests with no offer of fresh linens. (I asked for fresh linens and they gave me a single blanket) As you walked down the halls, bags of trash lined the hallways and they would sit there for HOURS. The small table in front of the elevator had half-eaten food that sat there all day and overnight and into the next day. The computer area had old trash and food just uncleaned. The "breakfast" was an absolutely disgusting prepackaged muffin in a bag with absolutely no regard for basic allergies like nuts, dairy, or gluten - why not offer simple single serve cereals and milks and some fresh fruit? If I had not prepaid this reservation, I would have absolutely found somewhere else to stay.
