NOT a Best Western. Best Western should take their name off this pit. Made reservations through corporate office to take advantage of free night promotion, using points. Ran into problems on the way to the hotel, and tried several times to call and let them know we couldn't make it. They NEVER answered the phone or returned our messages, so we called corporate office. They said they were also unable to reach the hotel to cancel reservation and save our points for the future. The manager finally called at the end of the day and refused to even attempt to assist us. Very unprofessional business.

Needs upgrading. This hotel needs upgrading in cleanliness, technology and food. Room was a good size but plugs were missing next to bed etc. Hallways just plain dirty. Breakfast had a lot of food but it was all cold.

Pacific Coast Roadhouse - nextdor to Elephant Seals In our annual visit to Morro Bay, we stayed at Pacific Coast Roadhouse in San Simeon - Best Western. This time we didn't see any zebras, but Elephant Seals were very active. We saw new babies, young bulls practicing their fighting skills, and huge Alpha bulls. Waves this year were huge and power of the ocean just overwhelming.

Fine for a short weekend We stayed here for 2 nights so that we could go see the holiday tour at Hearst Castle. When we arrived, we discovered that the sofa bed in our room was actually just a futon that wouldn’t fold down. I went to the front desk to tell them and the front desk agent tried to give us a room on the second floor (no elevator) to make up for it but my parents both have mobility issues so going up the stairs was not an option for us. He eventually gave us the room next to our original room which had adjoining doors so I stayed in the second room while my parents stayed in the original room which ended up working out well for us. The included breakfast is fine, typical hotel breakfast. You have to go up steps to get to the first floor which is fine for me but in addition to limited mobility, my mom hurt her ankle so going up even a few steps was very painful. Please be aware that this is not an ADA compliant building.
