Interesting experience I had booked a room in the south building which I was immediately turned off by. The jacuzzi tub was dirty so I tried filling it and when I put jets on, dirt and scum came out. One of the towels in the bathroom has a brown substance on it (I don’t want to know) there was some mold around the shower. I also didn’t realize how far this building was from the pool. Had to drive (or walk on a nice day) but we happened to visit on a weekend where it rained and was cold both days we were here. My own mistake for not doing more research. Anyway, I called within 30 mins of checking in but was told we couldn’t change rooms because it had to go through reservations which closed at 7pm. It was 7:30pm. I called the next morning and was able to move to a new room which was in the same building as the pool. This room was so nice and I have no complaints about it. It was a one bedroom and so much space! Only downfall was it cost an extra $100 for the night. Was hoping they would work with me with what I had described. I had to get out of the first room though so I just accepted the extra charge. There wasn’t even a table to eat food at and I had a very uneasy feeling there. The only place to sit was the bed. Eat, sleep, and hang out in bed lol! It was also strange that there was a security door to get into two other security doors which were two separate rooms but the people staying in that room kept their door open even when they left. I thought it was our room upon checking in. Very strange. Aside from the rooms, we tried calling the restaurant at the resort for room delivery and were told they don’t deliver. This was strange since it says pick up or delivery on all the pamphlets. We ended up dining in the next day and the food was pretty good. Couldn’t figure out where the restaurant was in the dark so we ended up driving 20 mins to the nearest restaurant. Be prepared to drive this distance for any stores or restaurants. It’s about 15 mins up the mountain to the resort. The pool had a lot of people but they did have a 90 min rule which likely helps with overcrowding. Very nice pool but the water was so cold! There were also teens who were flying down the water slide to the point of almost flying off the sides and going down head first. I was waiting for an accident to happen and praying one didn’t. Wasn’t too relaxing for the 30 mins we stayed. There was foul smell in the hallways that I couldn’t figure out what it was. Overall, I’d say again but I would make sure to stay in the main hotel and make sure to get the one bedroom or better. A week day stay would likely be more relaxing and less crowded. I would suggest making sure the rooms are clean and also having the reservation line open a bit later or giving the front desk the option to assist those who check in at or after 7pm. There seemed to be a lot of nice amenities outside but sadly we didn’t get to enjoy them due to the weather.

Clean and well maintained with nice amenities . The resort accommodations were very clean and well maintained. I thought the living area could have a more cozy feel. It is not elderly friendly. A lot of steps to get to rooms. Our unit was not toddler safe, stairs and railings. They did provide a safety gate. Overall for a couple fit in their 60s it was fine. The indoor pool was beautiful and very kid friendly. We did a lot of day trips, so was only at the resort for evenings and sleeping. Laundry facilities were coin operated. We have been to some resorts where laundry is in each unit. They provided a good basic kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Steele Hill and would recommend.

Terrible Experience! Double check which part of this “resort” your staying at… Terrible experience. Booked for two nights, but left after one. Paid for a “suite” that was outdated and gross. Paint chipping from the ceiling, dingy furniture, and the only thing looking semi clean were the sheets. We were clearly in the old building that hasn’t been updated in a very long time. Never before had we left a hotel early, but there was no way we were staying here a second night. Staff was not helpful and OF COURSE offered no type of credit or even partial refund because we left at 12 and not 10am.

Winter time Family Fun! Steele Hill was a great family friendly place to go with my kids and husband for a weekend get away this winter! So many things to do indoor pools, sauna and hot tubs! Sledding and fire with smores and hot chocolate. There’s even a gym off of the pool that I went to while my family was at the pool. We stayed in the West Suites which was attached to the pool. So you don’t have to wear jackets and boots! We had a great time!! I hope we can go again in the summer time!
