Not horrible but so many better places Have stayed at many places in Sanibel. Most are very similar. Went to Pelican Roost as it was chosen by others in a group. Each unit at Pelican Roost is different, but the units were a little more run down than other places we have stayed. The kitchen supplies were aged. The doors to all the units needed a repainting. Ground area under the building where they store chairs and discarded beach toys is a little sketchy. You are next to a public beach entrance which makes the beach there a little more crowded than other similar properties. The pool area was small but usually empty which was nice. The front desk manager was incredibly helpful in making reservation and making me feel comfortable that it would work. Parking by the unit was easy. Would I go back? To Sanibel yes, to Pelican Roost, only if other options not available

Just a very Happy Place Pelicans Roost is a 21 Condo building - all two bedroom, 2 bathroom units face the Gulf of Mexico. My daughter, son in law and I stayed in apt. 306, which was very tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly think of, including a full size washer and dryer. Ron Congdon, the General Manager, goes out of his way to make sure that everything you might possibly need is taken care of. Every unit comes with a screened in lanai with a great view of the Gulf of Mexico. It is a very relaxing, peaceful and quiet place. Pelicans Roost has, in addition to the beautiful beach, a great swimming pool with a great shaded lounging area, tennis court, barbecue, umbrellas, beach chairs and boogie boards. Pelicans Roost is definitely a super place to relax and unwind. I am so looking forward to going back next year. This place is a keeper!!

In Love With Pelicans Roost We just returned from our first vacation since the pandemic. We really needed a change of scenery and wanted to do something relaxing for our wedding anniversary. Well Pelicans Roost, you were the perfect solution! Unit #303 is fabulous! Clean, perfectly located, and very homey. The King size bed in the master suite was incredibly comfortable and you can’t beat the view. The staff at Pelicans Roost was equally inviting, kind and accommodating. Ron and Christine we can’t thank you enough. And we can’t wait to come back!! Thank you all for a the perfect anniversary weekend. We love everything about Pelicans Roost!

Best Vacation Spot Ever All 21 condos face the Gulf of Mexico, there is an elevator, pool, and tennis/pickle ball court. Each condo is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, with a fully equipped kitchen, and a washer/dryer in each unit. I have been coming to this place for 41 years and it just keeps getting better and better! They also have beach umbrellas and chairs for guests. Call the manager, Ron directly for the best rates as opposed to booking on the website.

Quiet, relaxing and wild rabbits to watch! My husband and I stayed in unit 107 in May. This condominium building only has 21 condos and the week that we were there only 3 or 4 units were occupied. The building has been here a while but, in my opinion, it has aged gracefully. The condo we stayed in was nicely furnished and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook a few meals instead of going out. The building has chairs, loungers, umbrellas and sand toys on the lower level for you grab on your way to the beach and then return them on your way back to your condo. There is a large grass lawn in between the building and the sand. There are wild rabbits living in the bushes that come out to feed on the grass. We loved watching them from our patio. Because there were so few condos occupied the parking lot was never crowded, it was very quiet and so relaxing. We really liked the location too. When you check in there is a closet next to the ground level of the elevator. In the closet there is a grocery store shopping cart and a luggage cart to use to easily get your luggage and/or groceries to your condo.
