Decent stay, nothing amazing I called ahead of time to request a wheelchair-accessible room with a bathtub one the side away from the train tracks. It was very important to me to be able to get a good night's sleep. When I arrived, they offered me a wheelchair-accessible room on the side with the train tracks. I ended up staying in a non-accessible room on the other side. It worked out okay for me. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't hear much noise from outside. (When I stayed at the Best Western down the street, it was VERY LOUD on the street side. See my review for details on that ordeal.) I love the large L-shaped desk in the room. I was doing work, so this worked out very well for me. I was able to print documents at the computer in the lobby area. I found the bed and pillows to be comfortable. They don't have a restaurant or any sort of breakfast. They do provide free coffee. There is also a room with snacks, beverages, and frozen entrees available for purchase. You need to request the key card to access it. Almost all of the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a bagel shop and a Starbucks basically a block away. Tip: use the app to place a mobile order at Starbucks so you don't have to wait a long time. : )

Avoid Sonesta Suires Santa Clara. 1. checked us into a room that reaked of smoke. A so called "non smoking" room. unbearable. had to request a change 2. would not check us in 1 hour before 4pm time despite only 10 cars in parking lot. Very unfriendly to guests. 3. despite being walkable to Santa Clara Univ. i HIGHLY recommend you look else where. Staff, rooms, accommodations = 0 stars.

Worst front desk staff ever! Rude! Crummy lobby, dirty floors. The manager and staff are so rude, completely do not appreciate a business traveller. I had a conference call at 11a and they just kept banging on door to check out. No reason to be so rude … crummy locked door lobby…kinda divey place. The hallway floors are dirty, pillows basic and foam, thin sheets and towels…i stayed for points and it wasn’t worth it. Go somewhere else.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE It was the most atrocious, horrible, abominable experience i have ever had. The hotel is in a very bad state. It needs immediate refurbishment. Bad musty stinking smell. We complained about it and the action they took was for a cleaning lady to come to the room and spray it with Glade..____ The most unfriendly, rude, hostile staff i have ever met in the hospitality business (except for one lovely girl). Instead of accommodating us, they indulged in creating more discomforting situations. They completely “destroyed” my family’s visit to the States, they ruined our mood . Never never go to that place. They did not even want to print my check out bill. She said she would e-mail it. And she did not do even that . Just horrible…..horrible.
