Fabulous Renovation of a historic Resort The Bishop's Lodge, one of Santa Fe's historic high-end resorts, is now managed by Auberge Resorts Collection. They have undertaken a top to bottom renovation and the results are fantastic! They have keep to welcoming charm of their staff common to this part of the world. It made for an outstanding stay - worth every penny.

Disappointed I was very excited to stay at this beautiful property. However, I walked away feeling let down. I always use these reviews to make my lodging decisions so I want to be honest for people deciding on their stay. The property itself is beautiful (landscaping, layout, decor) everything you expect from Auberge. My main problems were service related. Arriving felt chaotic and confusing-there was no polish or warmth to the greeting. Our room wasn’t ready and the handover of our luggage was messy. They misplaced my husbands jacket and he spent the whole visit without it stressed about losing it. Then it was hanging up the whole time and he had to call three times and finally got it back as we were leaving. Not great. We had to come check back and our room was ready but they didn’t text us as they mentioned they would. Our room, a grove room, was lovely but on the lower floor felt dark and the view was of a fence no vista or land. I would recommend a different room type. Weekdays at the restaurant were fine, but Friday we had to leave without eating because we didn’t get water or coffee for 30 minutes. It was crowded and we saw one waiter for the entire restaurant. This is a huge problem for them! For these luxury prices the experience should feel much more luxurious: service, ease, personalized touches, attention to detail. They have to prioritize staffing experienced hospitality crews to make this a much better experience. We usually stay at Rosewood or FS and this isn’t a problem. For Santa Fe, especially a couples trip, check out Inn of Five Graces. It’s smaller, more boutique, but incredibly luxurious and intimate with great amenities.

Beautiful property but needs more staff to deliver proper service The property is truly beautiful. Rooms are well appointed. Downside is it can be a LONG walk to your casita. In our case the walk also involved a lot of stairs and a final uphill climb. The number of carts to take guests around the property was very limited. Long waits when you asked for a cart, so we walked almost every time, including on check out with our luggage, shopping bags, etc. We did enjoy the pool and the Skyfire restaurant is outstanding.
