THE NAME HOLIDAY INN STANDS FOR QUALITY AND A GOOD NIGHTS REST! When my wife and I stop at Holiday Inn hotels we know we will receive compassionate service, quality rooms, and a good nights rest! Tonight we were provided a spacious king bed suite (a very pleasant surprise). As expected the bed was very comfortable, with high quality sheets and pillows. The free breakfast in the morning was enough to fill my hungry appetite. In the past we have tried other hotel chains, with much less satisfaction. Holiday Inn charges more, but in the end the quality is worth the price!

Horrible My family and I had an absolutely horrible experience at the Scott Louisiana Holiday Inn. Our bathroom in room 108 had multiple leftover hairs from previous guests - on the tub, shower wall, behind the shampoo bottle hanging from the shower wall, on the counter…. Absolutely disgusting. Aside from the dirty bathroom, we are appalled at the general manager’s behavior Sunday (day of the Scott Mardi Gras parade), as well as numerous members of her staff. First, we were aggressively confronted in the hotel parking lot by a man open carrying a gun, who is not an employee of the hotel - he stated that his wife works at the hotel, which gives this man zero authority to interact with paying customers. He later stated the hotel “had hired him as security for the parade”, but that seems unlikely. Further, has he had any training on security? Is he insured? Seems like a huge risk for IHG, should something happen involving him. He told us check out was at 11 and that meant our cars needed to be out of the hotel parking lot by 11. What kind of hotel makes their guests leave the entire premises by check-out time, that is absolutely absurd and unheard of? We had no problem checking out of our room by 11, but we had planned to keep our car parked at the hotel while we attended a FAMILY Mardi Gras parade passing in front of the hotel. We had stayed two nights and spent hundreds with the hotel, and were in disbelief that we could not leave our car there for a few hours past check out time. I was also not informed of this ridiculous “policy” until aggressively approached by this man - no one informed me of this policy at check in, and it is not documented anywhere on my reservation. He told me to take up my concerns with the General Manager. I approached a lady who I thought was the General Manager, turned out it was this man’s mother in law. I started asking questions about the parking lot policy, and the man quickly cut me off to tell me she wasn’t the General Manager (okay, fine), but then told me he was calling the police and then told me “f*** you” after I told him he is not an employee and has no authority in the situation. I moved on to the actual General Manager who was standing nearby. When I approached the general manager with questions and concerns about this parking lot policy I had never heard of, her and another employee said they were calling the police on us…. On a FAMILY attending a parade. What a strange response, where is the customer service???? There was ZERO. The manager needs some major training. Customers are allowed to have concerns and are allowed to express those concerns to hotel management to work through them. That is not what occurred in this situation. To that same point, I am a gold elite member - shouldn’t I have received late check out privileges? No one offered that as a solution. Instead of paying hotel guests being able to use the parking lot, employee’s friends and family were parking there for the parade instead. An employee’s husband and mother were both able to park in the lot for the parade, but not my family who were paying customers. As we were leaving the lobby of the hotel at checkout, we overheard multiple workers standing in the lobby talking about us, and one employee stated she was just going to make extra charges on my credit card, and another said I “had an attitude”. I am a paying customer who was not happy about a made up parking lot policy that was not communicated to me until it was time to check out, clearly these employees have no customer service training. Further, you are just going to threaten to commit credit card fraud, and charge me for unauthorized charges because I questioned a bogus parking lot policy? These employees appear to be unethical. Due to the uncleanliness of our room, employee’s husband aggressively confronting us and cussing at us with a gun on his hip, and employees threatening to commit fraud on my credit card, we will absolutely never be back at this hotel. If we couldn’t park in the hotel parking lot after check out time, that needed to be communicated to us at booking or at the very least during check in. The way we were treated by employees for bringing up a valid concern is unacceptable. This location needs to be investigated by IHG corporate, it is not up to par.

Bed Bugs and Room Under Construction I booked 3 rooms for members in my family to attend our Dad's Funeral. Upon arrival, I found one room was under construction. When I asked the front desk for a new room they informed me that they were fully booked and did not have any rooms available. I was told "there is nothing we can do" by both the front desk and customer support. They weren't even willing to try and accommodate my family another Holiday Inn location nearby. There was zero effort put forth. Our family ended up having to try and find a hotel last minute. The next night my sister's family woke up with bug bites and low and behold they found both mattresses infested with bed bugs. Again, the front desk put forth little effort in trying to resolve this issue. Their family ended up moving hotels. The pictures I am showing clearly indicated this isn't something that is recent and the infestation has been established for some time. Anyone cleaning the room would have recognized the problem, but simply ignored it.

Decent H/Inn Express 1 stayed for one night in November during a 21 night road trip, staying in 11 ‘chain’ hotels, of which 5 were HIE’s, so this review is relatively objective. Easily found with plenty of parking. Pleasant and efficient staff. Remodelled property. ‘Standard’ sized room - i.e., by UK standards, large ! Clean well equipped and with a good standard of bed linen, including duvets which I much prefer. Comfortable bed. Bathroom had the shower ‘in bath’ rather than a separate cubicle. Didn’t eat the breakfast. Gas, groceries and food outlets all close by. Decent value for money.
