Troublesome A/C tainted the stay, but mostly a good property The hotel was just fine for the most part - clean, comfy beds, pleasant staff, good location. Unfortunately, one overriding concern diminished the stay. It was a warm night requiring A/C and the unit in our room chilled sufficiently but failed to dehumidify; hence, the air, the linens, the carpet all felt very damp continuously. It made for an uncomfortable sleep. Maybe it was just this one unfortunate room, so it may not be a problem elsewhere - try to avoid room 102 just in case. Otherwise, this Quality Inn was a good value and fine for travelers with pets.

DON'T STAY HERE! DON'T STAY HERE! I stayed here several years ago. I'm currently looking for a hotel in Scottsboro and it reminded me of the experience I had. I was on a motorcycle trip and left the charger for my helmet speakers in the room. That's important because my GPS bluetooths into my speakers and tells me where to turn. I talked to a nice young man who found it and promised to get it out to me the next day by FedEx or UPS, which I offered to pay for. Everything seemed fine until I called back the next day and the manager refused to send it out. No time she said. I called back several times and they finally shipped it out. I got it back the day before I left and my battery had long run out. It ruined my trip because I couldn't follow the routes I planned using basecamp. Reading some of the reviews here that mention the manager, I see things haven't changed. I can't remember the manager's name. Might have been Darlene but that's all. I left a review at the time and got a reply from the manager. There was no apology. She was basically letting me know that my complaint stopped with her and that my feedback didn't go anywhere. The rooms were just so-so and I'm not picky.

Don't stay here!! On a trip with associates when on the second morning one of my associates got locked out of his room. He went to the front office to get manger to open door and she couldn't. He had an important meeting to get to and no time to spare. All she said was we don't have a maintenance man coming in and we would have to wait. Then she went back to the office and a man stopped by and said he could get us in the room. He kicked the door twice and it broke the door frame, and we were in. The manager came back and was mad that it was broken, we told what happened and she said the general manager was coming in to get a tool that they had made up to slide under the door to get it open. If this has happened before then they should either change to 30-year-old doors of teach the staff how to use the tool. Remember. 2 kicks and he was in. No security here. When we got back to the motel later that evening the young girl that was at the desk said he broke the door with a crowbar, which was a lie, and the manager wasn't even there when the other guest broke the door jamb with 2 kicks. he couldn't stay that night and they wouldn't refund for that night's stay and put a repair charge on his CC as well. He asked to speak the general manger, but he wouldn't take his call and we called Choice Hotels, and they were absolutely NO help!!

Do Not Trust Them With Your Credit Card We tried to change our reservation two days ahead of time, on the "cancel by" date, because the new rate was $30 cheaper a night. Even though it was before 11:59 p.m., the hotel immediately charged us a $126 "cancellation" fee for one night. We called right away to try to fix it, but they refused to work with us. They "kindly" offered to "reinstate" our reservation. Digging deeper, we realized they planned to charge us ANOTHER $126, making it $252 for one night! Orbitz contacted them as well, but it was too late--they had our credit card number. Do NOT trust this hotel.

Mixed bag. Room smelled great...nice and clean. Bed nice too. But in our room the remote control did not work, phone didn't work to call the front desk, and the A/C didn't work either. Too hot all night. Breakfast was weak...bacon ran out.
