Not as expected We found our room in need of a deep cleaning and maintenance. We stayed with family totaling 2 adults, 3 kids in a suite. The main kitchen light did not function. Maintenance came and got it to stay on so I could cook, but the next morning it was not functional. The larger burner of the cooktop did not work at all. The pans were not clean, along with some of the coffee cups in the cupboard. The only ice machines we could locate were on floor one and there was maybe a cup of ice between the 3 of them. I walked floor 2 and found no ice machines at all. The breakfast was good, typical hotel fare, but everything was stocked and hot. The sofa bed had what looked to be an unclean fitted sheet on it, but there was a clean set to use, which we did. The Velux type blanket had seen better days and was not good, so we used one of the layers from the main beds instead. Several surfaces were in need of cleaning, sticky, etc. We have stayed in much better hotels in this chain before.

A little down at the heels Poor water pressure. Slow drain. Caulking in need of refreshment. TV not viewable from bed or couch. Someone was cooking what smelled like spoiled hamburger and onions. Sausage at breakfast was not great. Greeted by a strict, rote recitation of rules and policies. The most downscale Hilton I've seen in years.

Spacious and updated but outdated a bit by the competition This is an all suite hotel and unlike some, this hotel truly does give you lots of room. We booked a double queen suite and sure enough the suite has plenty of room. It comes with a kitchenette and a separate living room with a bedroom with a closeable door and the sofa in the living room converts to a bed, so you can really have two separate bedrooms. All of our kitchen items worked well so you could truly stay here on a long term stay and feel like you are not cramped. Now the bad news....while this hotel has been recently renovated and everything is back to being updated and in good working order, this is an older hotel with an older layout and it looks like you've stepped back to the 90s....or even 80s. Other newer hotels have better designs but are smaller. The room layout has an ensuite bathroom with the shower and toilet in a separate room but the vanity in the bedroom so if you wanted to get ready at the vanity, you'd be doing it in front of others who might be trying to still sleep. The rooms are also a bit noisy. The fridge and icemaker were loud, the bathroom fan was loud and the furnace/AC fans were loud. The shower, while updated, didn't get very hot and the flow was lower than I like. Breakfast was on par with what you'd expect at this level of hotel. There was a small selection of hot foods and a nice variety of other things. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the pool was a bit bigger than hotels this size usually have. The location is excellent, right off the highway and close to plenty of food and shopping options. It's great for teams playing soccer or baseball/softball or swimming at the Midco Aquatic Center, all just a few minutes drive away. The wifi worked well and the public spaces were updated. They do have several meeting rooms that seemed decent sized and could work well for small groups. Overall, the hotel may be dated but it is updated and you get plenty of room, so if you can get a decent rate, you may be able to stay here and save some money while still getting spaciousness.

DUMP This place is a dump very outdated holes in the wall, stains on the sheets and lint from the dryer all over, toilets run 24/7, curtains are shaby, dust everywhere. Staff was nice and breakfast was okay.

Bed bugs This was my first time staying at the Homewood Suites in Sioux Falls. I stayed for one night in room 104 and woke up with bedbug bites. There was a large bedbug on the sheets in the morning. On the positive side, at least the staff was friendly and helpful.
