Brooke is the key Started poor with the customer service on the phone with both the 1-800 service and the hotel number but Brooke took care of things at check in and did an excellent job of customer service. Hotel is good, not great, but when a ton of the business is likely crazy football fans or ND sports, etc it would be hard to maintain an immaculate property.

In need of a total renovation Pulled in late and fell asleep quickly. Initial thought was the place was dated and not very clean. Once awake, I noticed how dirty the place was. Stained sheets, ceiling peeling, hair clogged shower, musty hallway with dirty carpet. The entire place needs remodeled. Swimming pool was not available. Breakfast- literally spat my first mouthful of eggs onto my plate, no idea how to describe the taste. Sausage links like rubber, potato’s uncooked. Small amount of waffle mixture that looked old came out but not enough to make a waffle, an hour into breakfast with nobody else at breakfast. Coffee undrinkable with pots containers that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in some time. Avoid this place at all cost.

Clean, but worn. The good, not-so-good, and the surprising. We were looking for a dog-friendly stop on a regular road-trip we make between PA and MN, and this location is about half-way. Hilton has good pet-friendly options, and this one offered included breakfast, so a way to offset that extra pet fee. When I made the reservation, they noted that they were not able to accept Hilton Honors points for the stay. I just chalked that up to a system glitch at the time, we were getting a good rate anyway. We were traveling over Memorial Day weekend, so the facility was pretty quiet. The good: Staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel easy to find and close to the highway, plentiful free parking, several fast-food options close by. Room was clean and comfortable. The not-so-good: The facility is worn. Some rust at the tub faucet, scraped wall paper in the corridors. I noticed temporary paper room numbers in the corridor, plus the closet door was missing. (It looked like they were getting ready to renovate). The breakfast was underwhelming. Scrambled eggs, very spicy potatoes, colorless sausage in a warming dish. Make your own waffles. Toast & muffins. As I noted, there were not many guests that night we stayed, so recognized that might contribute. We had a good bit of trouble with our room keys; one would open the exterior doors, but not the room door. The other key, vice-versa. The staff gladly tried several times to fix this, but it never fully worked right. The surprising: Got an email later in the day after we checked out — This location is severing the Hilton affiliation as of June 1st 2024, and rebranding as « Larkspur Landing Select South Bend. » So now I know why I couldn’t use Honors points.

Not Up To Usual Standards. Not up to the usual Hampton standards. Hall carpets are dirty and worn, lots of chipped paint, everything looks a little tired, elevator call button sometimes had to be held in to get elevator. A rehab ten years ago would have been about right, now urgently needed. Front desk had no list or recommendations for nearby restaurants.

Not one of my favorites After traveling for the last 30 days and staying at a different Hilton brand each night this was by far my least favorite. After traveling for hours we arrived at hotel at 1:12pm and went in to check why the app was not showing my digital key coming and was told "we don't have digital key and If I check you in before 2:30 we charge a early check in fee." So we sat in our vehicle in an empty parking lot that was still empty the next morning for an hour. I did not check reviews before arriving(shame on me). When we did check in the coffee in lobby was cold as it was the next morning at 9am as well. Room was clean except for dead flies on a/compliance. I read another review about flies, maybe a problem. Breakfast area and lobby were very dirty crumbs & garbage all over. Breakfast area was not being taken care of despite 3-4 employees chatting behind front desk..and again cold coffee. Ice maker on 3rd floor broken. This property is far below Hilton standards in my opinion and I will not stay again. Plenty of other Hilton properties near by stay. I am glad this was at the end of our trip as it may have turned me against the Hilton name altogether. Please see my other Hampton reviews as I normally leave a 5. Not for this one. Maybe they do well with the college so close..but it's worth the drive to Elkhart for a much better experience!
